Thanksgiving Beets

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
I made these for thanksgiving and they were a huge hit! My husband and I love beets but i have never had them prepared like this before, but i loved the apple, and the holiday spicing was wonderful! Just the right amount of spicy and sweet. I will definitely make this again and again!

Grandma Chase's Nanaimo Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
I've eaten a lot of nanaimo bars in my life and most are far too sweet for my liking, this one is definitely tastes much lighter with the sugar which i appreciated. I did miss the coconut but the walnuts were a nice substitute. Although i like the taste of dark and rich chocolate i found the top layer too cocoa-y tasting. Overall i enjoyed the bar but longed for a bit more sweetness, but possibly just because im used to them being overpoweringly sweet. On the other hand my bars looked AMAZING, i made sure to let the top layer get extra cool before spreading and they were absolutely flawless in every layer, very tidy and professional looking!

Marrakesh Vegetable Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This is delicious, i've made it according to the recipe and also made other versions and it takes many substitutions quite well. My favorite sub is to replace the raisins with dates though, extra bursts of sweetness that keeps with the moroccan theme :)

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
delicious and SO fast and easy to make! I subbed rice milk for regular milk and corn flour for wheat and it turned out absolutely fabulous. I plan to make this in large batches in the future. Thanks for a great recipe!

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
This cake was divine! All i can think is "healthy chocolate cake, where have you been all my life!?!" It stuck to the pan a bit for me but i was skimpy on the greasing since it was a non-stick pan, next time i'll do a better job and hopefully that will help. I drizzled mine with a vanilla glaze and topped it with raspberries and vanilla soy ice cream. It was wonderful! PLUS this cake only takes 5 minutes to make! I will make this all the time from now on!

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
Very tasty! I didnt have pecans so i just sprinkled raisins to cover the top and it was delicious! After 55 minutes baking the fork was definitely not even close to coming out clean, the crust was perfect so i just took it out to cool and hoped it would set. After a couple hours on the counter it was perfectly set and ready to serve! Its heavy though, i think this pie filling might do better in tarts just because a slice of this pie is a bit of a doozy for the pancreas :)
