I'm going to tell you about a summer dinner to remember.
Okay, so this isn't fair, because this may be the last time I EVER see fresh chickpeas, and I don't know anywhere you can buy them. But if you do, oh, my goodness, this is what you do (I'll try to post a real recipe soon, too).
Summer,
MORE
Fresh chickpeas pods
Fresh chickpeas
Lamb chops, warm chickpea and radicchio salad, and carrot salad
Beautiful Jamie, with chickpeas
My favorite things to cook
Anything fresh and local.
My cooking triumphs
My all-local dinner: I cooked Pacific Northwest mussels in a white wine I made from the grapes that grow across my porch, and used that liquid for a reduction cream sauce, and served them over nettle ravioli from Nettle Farm pasta.
My cooking tragedies
My brother still talks about the time I tried to make Crepes Suzette in high school--apparently substituting orange vodka for Grand Marnier was not such a good idea!
