Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
This is fantastic and really easy to do ~ I threw in lemon zest and a small bag of potato chips and it was even better the second time!

Calico Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
I made a double batch for Thanksgiving and I was the only one who ate it. It's okay, but not something that I will make again. It tasted like pork and beans, just prettier.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
I have taken these mushrooms to every party and they are always the first thing to go. I sauteed garlic and chopped onions and threw in a frozen crab patty. When that mixture cooled, I added the rest of the ingredients. Dip the mushroom caps in melted butter before filling and putting on a cookie sheet. The result is very rich, but a HUGE HIT!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
This really would be "to die for" if I fed this to my family regularly ~ WAY TOO RICH! It was okay, but nothing that I would rave about.

Avocado and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
This is as pretty as it is good. Throw in some feta cheese sprinkles at the end to give it even more color and mix up the texture. This even tasted good the next day!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
Yummy! My picky children and even pickier father all gobbled this up! To make it a little easier, I used one of those cooked chickens from our deli department (the hotwing flavor)~ it gave the end result a terrific KICK and cut out a huge part of the process. I also threw in 1/2 cup sour cream at the end to give it a creamier texture.

Creamy Scallop Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
I melted the cheese right into the soup and used more milk than was called for and it was fantastic! The second time around, I threw in three cubed potatoes and a bag of frozen corn.....and it was even better! This is a fun soup to play around with ~ doubt you can ruin it.

Ginger Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
If there were six or seven stars, I would rate this recipe even higher. It was incredibly easy, fast, and my family wiped the pan clean. I used fresh ginger and put in about 4 times more than was called for, but other than that ~ followed it exactly, which I rarely do! Thank you Christine!

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2004
I used egg nog instead of milk. It turned out a lot richer, but it was the perfect thing for a holiday dinner.

Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2004
This is an incredible dessert and no one will know how very easy it is. With garnish, this looks very fancy and tastes better than any peanut butter pie I have ever had.

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2004
Since I can never follow a recipe exactly, I added some bacon crumbles to make it my own..... but, it wouldn't have mattered. This is by far the best soup I have ever made or have ever tasted. My family went bananas and I'm on my way to the store to get more asparagus! And, it was SO easy!

My Favorite Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2004
I used all sorts of seafood ~ shrimp, crab, chopped scallops, and clams ~~ the result was the best seafood chowder of all time (I put in a little red wine vinegar to jazz it up because it needed something to cut the heaviness). This is the kind of recipe that you make for a gathering or luncheon....not something you'd want to feed to your family routinely ~ it's just too rich.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2004
This is a great recipe and my kids even gobbled it up. I used vegetables that I had on hand and added a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of evaporated milk to make it a little creamier. I used chopped stewed tomatoes with spices and that certainly added some extra flavor. It was still a little bland, so I threw in a dash of the following spices: cumin, garam masala, tumeric, ginger, and curry.

Quick and Easy 20-Minute Chicken Posole

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2004
This didn't taste like any posole that I've ever eaten before, but it was good soup nonetheless. It was very light and the oregano and cumin really jazzed up the broth. If you want posole, use a different recipe.....if you want a fast, yummy soup, this is the one!

Reuben Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2004
This soup went together in a flash and tasted fantastic. You have to be saurkraut lover (we are) to really appreciate the 'bite' of the soup. I used bratwurst like the other reviewer ~ just didn't like the idea of the texture of corned beef in soup. YUM YUM!
