Married, in school, working, and living on a budget (aren't we all?). Cooking lets me be creative, spend way less money than going out, and gets me out of clean up duty. :)
My favorite things to cook
Desserts. They are the most fun to give and to eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Shabbat. My family "invented" the everything Challah, and I eat so much of it with chopped liver and white fish salad that I almost never get to the main course.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm, well, I brought to concept of sweet potato pie to my pueblo in Peru. My host family was very impressed.
My cooking tragedies
When I was first learning to cook I made a beef stew that was so spicy that all of the boys refused to eat it. My mom choked it down for me through a running nose and tearing eyes. Thanks mom!
