Mini Crescent Dogs

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I made these for my New Year's Eve gathering and they went over fameously! What a cute idea. I served them with "Honey Mustard Sauce" from this site, and that was also a hit.

Honey Mustard Sauce

Made this to go with "Mini Crescent Dogs" and it was perfect! I am so glad that I chose this recipe other others that were more complicated and called for way more ingredients.

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I am so happy to have found this recipe! I love these nuts, but cringe at having to pay so much for them from the vendors at malls and events. It was so incredibly easy to make, and I will be making these for years to come! I think this would be great to give as a home-made gift, and I know they will impress my friends, family & co-workers! I followed the suggestion of other reviewers and doubled the cinnamon & sugar, and I used 5 cups of almonds because that's what I had on hand, and they came out perfect! Before I spread the almonds on the pan I put down a sheet of Reynold's Release foil so I wouldn't have to clean up a cooked on mess from my pan, and it worked famously!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
Most Excellent!!! I ended halving the recipe because I only have two loaf pans, but otherwise I followed the recipe to a tee and the bread came out perfect! I might have to buy a couple more pans for the next time I make this - I would love to bring a loaf to work, and maybe put some up in the freezer for later.....

Banana Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I just ate one still warm from the oven and it was delicious! Now I have a great recipe for my too-ripe bananas! I'm thinking that perhaps next time I might use 3/4 cups of sugar instead of a full cup, though, because they are very sweet.

Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
This was absolutely delish! My husband didn't even miss the meat! I actually doubled the recipe so I could freeze one batch for later. We just at the second one, and it was just as good, if not better than the first one. The only change that I made was I used Bisquick baking mix for the top "crust" the first time and a can of Pillsbury crescent rolls the second time, only because I forgot to buy the pie crusts. Either way is a great option.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
These were almost as good as Chili's southwest egg rolls. Very simple to make. My only complaint is that they did not hold their rounded shape. I also suggest that you double or triple the batch so you can have some for back-up in the freezer.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
This is amazing! I have been making this recipe for quite some time now, and everyone makes sure that I make it for potlucks and parties (I usually have to quadruple the recipe to make enough for everyone). The best veggie soup mix I have foud, is Lipton Recipe Secrets (I originally found the recipe for spinach dip on the back of their package, excluding the green onions). One thing that I learned from Rachel Ray - instead of just draining the spinach, wring it out in a clean kitchen towel over the sink to get as much liquid out of it as possible.

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
I really thought that I hated sweet potatoes until recently. Anyway, I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. I cut some into sticks and some into rounds, and have decided that the sticks are better. Based on the advice of another reviewer, I got long skinny potatoes, and they were much easier to cut into sticks. I also added garlic powder, dried basil, cayenne pepper and onion salt. The flavor was excellent, but maybe a little to spicy. I will probably use less cayenne next time :)

Easy Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
this was my first Hummus recipe to try, and it turned out very good. I used it to dip veggies in. After realizing how easy it is to make, I will never buy store-bought again!
