Twenty-Four Hour Salad

Excellent! Have had a similar version at family get togethers for years. That recipe instructs you to mix the sugar and mayo together first which causes the dressing to run through overnight. I found I liked this much better because the delicious leftover salad could be enjoyed a day or two later without being soggy but was still delicious if not even more so. Thanks!!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

I really enjoyed it and look forward to the leftovers tonight! I didn't have root beer so I used one can lemon-lime soda and one bottle of a Mexican orange soda. Both made with natural sugar. I also added a few dashes of McCormick BBQ seasoning blend and some pepper on top of the meat before cooking. I would make this again exaclty the same way. Great!

Followed everything except the green beans. I used white beans instead. I diluted it with a little more broth at the end after it cooked down a bit to thin it out. I thought it had really great flavor as directed and didn't need any extra herbs. Served with some wonderful California style sourdough bread and butter and it was a hearty meal on the first day of Fall! Very good! Will make again.

Excellent! Took me quite a bit longer to get the heated mixture to thicken, lots or stirring and waiting! In the end, oh so worth the wonderful fresh taste! Mmmm! Thank you :)

Perfect Baked Potato

Just realized I never reviewed this. Back today to double check the directions. It makes a great potato. Sometimes I microwave the spuds for about 2 mins to speed up the cooking. Great thanks!

Poppyseed Dressing

Excellent! At first I wasn't sure it had much flavor but after about a half an hour the flavors really came through. We enjoyed it on a spinach salad with mandarin oranges, sweet onion, and slivered almonds. Thanks for sharing :)

Fish Chowder

Great! Added carrots but followed the rest as written. It had a very mild flavor, not fishy at all. Will make again and probably and more spices to jazz it up a little. Very comforting on a cold day.

Chinese Pepper Steak

The flavor was excellent. My meat came out a little chewy but I think I over cooked it a few mins too long so do be careful to follow the cooking time. I am still looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow even knowing it will be a little work to chew it :)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Made this today for the second time. It's excellent! I double it and add carrots. I find that the butter/flour/milk mix requires medium-high heat and a few mins. longer than specified to get thick but that's OK. The soup is top dog!

Easy Creamy Peppercorn Chicken

This is good but I agree that the chicken doesn't absorb the flavors very well. The sauce was zesty but the chicken was a tad bland. We had leftovers so before reheating the next day I diced the chicken and then re-heated it mixed in the sauce and it was much more flavorful.

A great recipe! Our household enjoys these much bettter than the canned sauce. I like to add a little more bell pepper and onion. I also add a teaspoon or two or Worcestershire sauce and sometimes a little bbq sauce along with the other sauce ingredients. Great!

Chicken Puffs

These were great. I took a shortcut and used a 12 ounce can of all natural chicken. I used two rectangles of dough per puff and filled them with two heaping tablespoons of chicken mix to make 4 large chicken puffs. No need to dirty a bowl, I mixed the cream cheese into the warm pan after cooking. Also added a little chopped celery to the onion mix while cooking. My sweety gave it two thumbs up. Thanks :)

Cranberry Swirl Coffee Cake

5 stars for the recipe as written b/c it bakes up exactly as one would hope and it is tasty. I normally love walnuts but I felt they gave off too much bitterness to the recipe. I think slivered almonds would be much better in this one. Their taste and texture would be more suited to this recipe in my opinion.

Pumpkin Bread

Perfectly delicious! I added 1/2 tsp ground ginger and 1 tsp vanilla and then followed the directions. SO good. The bread tastes like a cross between pumpkin pie and ginger bread. Put it in the fridge covered in plastic for the night. Really good this morning! Thanks for sharing :)

Polish Meat Balls

Perfect! Exactly what we were hoping for. Thanks :) Update: 10-25-10 Can't believe no one else has reviewed these! Made these again today using ground chicken in place of the ground pork. I even used less meat than called for (about 3 pounds total) by mistake without changing the dry or liquid measurements and they still came out fantastic. They're a wonderful comfort food and great alternative to the usual beef meatball. Serve w/mashed potatos and green beans - yum. Try these!

Mini Cheesecakes I

These are great! I did a graham cracker crumb crust and made a tart cherry topping. The recipe makes about 15 in regualr size muffin pans. Loved them!
