Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
Thanks for such an easy tasy recipe. I have not up till now found a pork dish my honey likes. This one got a thumbs up and said I could make it again. I always tweak or change recipes ever so slightly. For this one I substituted half the honey for peach jam that I have an over abundance of. I also increased the chili powder to 1 tsp. I marinated for a day and a half. Coated them in a little dusting of flour and pan sauteed (planned on grilling but the weather didn't cooperate). They were to die for and will keep this recipe in the permanant file. I love pork but my honey doesn't and for 7 years I have been looking for a recipe we both would enjoy. I can't thank you enough for the recipe.

Creamy Chipped Beef Fondue

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
This recipe seemed to have alot of potential. I did half the recipe which probably didn't help. We thought it tasted to much of cream cheese and we both like cream cheese. I love fondue and I love chipped beef and cream cheese so I think I will try again with a couple of changes. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Also...to anyone who thinks this is too salty...Dried Beef is cured in salt, so when using it you should rinse off all the pieces in cool water to remove alot of the salt...hope this helps.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
We really liked this recipe. I used a mix for the crust. I used ranch dressing as the base and added blue cheese crumbles to half the pizza. (have one who doesn't care for blue cheese). I followed others suggestions of just mixing the chicken with hot sauce. This was easy recipe to make and tasted really good. Can't get anything like this at our local pizzaria. Will make again and add to my permanant file. Thanks for a great recipe.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
This recipe was pretty easy to whip up and looked nice as well. We both enjoyed it but thought it needed just a tad less dill weed. Both of us like it but it was a little overpowering. Made as written except I didn't have any almonds so I just made it without and it was still good. Thanks for the great recipe.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
This recipe turns out really great and looks adorable on a platter. I didn't follow instructions exactly due to other reviews. I did cut a slit out of the large olives with made putting the cream cheese in a breeze. I only used 1/2 block of cream cheese because I could tell by looking at the olives they wouldn't take that much. Some reviews said plain cream cheese was bland so my remedy was to add 1t dry ranch dressing to 1/2 package cream cheese and I also added 1 green onion finely chopped. We thought this was flavorful bit didn't overpower the olives. I will definately make again with those changes. Thanks for the great recipe.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
I followed recipe as stated and they turned out good. Others in the house thought they were great and said the recipe was a keeper. I just thought they were good but they seemed to need something for me. I thought I liked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies better without the peanut butter. Since some int he house thought they were great I might make again for them. Thanks for the recipe.

Rolled Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
These rolled dumplings were a big hit at my house. I was told I should can these and sell them. I have tried many bisquick type dumplings and I love those kind but had someone in the house who wanted me to make dumplings like Cracker Barrels. I looked around on all recipes and most recipes are for the other kind. I was glad to find these as I was told these are better than cracker barrels. I followed recipe for dumplings but did my own broth. I cooked a whole chicken in the crocpot. Removed bones and shredded chicken and out in pan on stove then added these wonderfulo dumplings. They were light and fluffy with just the right amount of texture. Thanks again for a great recipe I will make again.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
This is the best recipe. I'm not a beer drinker but I have a home beer brewer in the house and I'm always on the lookout for recipes to use it in cooking. I have made this recipe twice now. The first time I followed as written. We thought it was great but a little sweet. The second time I decreased the brown sugar to half a cup and this was perfect. I cooked this in the slow cooker both times with great results. I think are corned beef was a little. Also, we used guiness once and home brewed stout the other. Before this recipe I only wanted corned beef once a year now we will have it more often. Thanks again for a recipe I would rate a 10 if I could.

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
Thankd a million for such a good recipe. The only change I made was the suggestion others had about slicing the hot dogs and adding them to the batter. These turned out wonderful and I can have a corn dog again. We ususally only eat corn dogs once a year at a festival because of the deep frying but lucky me came across this recipe and we can have them anytime now with out the guilt. Thanks again for a simple tasty meal. :)

Spring Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
I finally am getting around to ratin this recipe even thought I've made it at least 6 times now. This has become a staple for me to take home when I visit family. They love it and request it every trip. I have made just as written and I have used dried cherries in place of the cranberries. I like the dried cherries better but both are good. I have had a little trouble with the dough being a little wet. I ususally add a little more flour and shape the loafs right on the baking sheet to help with the wetness of the dough. Thanks for a great recipe and a keeper in my book.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
This dish turned out really well. My honey especially liked it and said to add it to the permanant file. I did make a couple of minor changes. I used light chive onion cream cheese, light margarine, and just plain cream of mushroom soup because that is what I had. I also added some leftover fresh mushrooms I had and served with a sald. It turns out really creamy and I had plently of sauce for 4 chicken breast with 3/4 pound of pasta. Thanks for the recipe.

Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2007
I made this dinner last night and we both found this meatloaf to be good. The reason I gave it four stars was because we both thought it was just a little sweet. I have always added brown sugar to my meatloaf before but not quite this much. Also, this recipe didn't call for spices but I added a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder because all savory recipes need a little. Before this I would just throw a meatloaf together and sometimes it was great and sometimes it wasn't. I wanted a recipe to follow to get some consistancy to my meatloaf and I will use this recipe again.

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2007
I made these for Sunday breakfast with frozen strawberries and they turned out great. I made strawberry butter to serve with them and that just intensified the great strawberry flavor. I can't imagine what problems one could have with this recipe unless they just don't really like strawberries or maybe aren't familiar with the correct way to make muffins. They were great and thanks for sharing this recipe as it's going into my permanant file.

Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
I made this syrup to go on top of waffles and it is the best syrup I have ever tasted. It was so good that I used the leftovers on top of brownies with strawberries. It got rave reviews as a dessert sauce as well. Give this recipe a try you wont be dissapointed.
