Yam Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This was a really easy dinner. I added a can of navy beans for protein and used a handful of pearl onions instead of one big one. The curry with the yams was suprisingly good. Warm and creamy. Thanks!

Tahini Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I am not familiar with tahini, just needed to use some up that had been in the fridge for who knows how long. It's very bitter, isn't it? I added another 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 Tbsp Adams chunky peanut butter to the dough. These cookies were gone in two days! My kids loved them, and I had them in the morning with coffee. The texture is perfect, melt in your mouth like a peanut butter cookie should. (My 9 y/o said, "sandy") Only four stars because I still would have liked them sweeter. Oh, and I used parchment paper and let them cool before touching them, they held together great. Try them!

Pumpkin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
My kids declared these "awesome". I did increase the sugar to a full cup, and added 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Would have been better to add chocolate chips, but we didn't have any! :)

Sesame Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
I really wanted to like these cookies. I had some rice flour I needed to use up, and all the other ingredients on hand. I added 1/4 cup of honey, and my kids still wouldn't eat them. I did like the seseme seeds, they were a nice crunch, but the actual body of the cookie seemed raw, even though I followed the recipe and the top and bottom were browned. Sorry, too weird for our family.

Pumpkin Pancakes

These were good, I also used a tsp pumpkin pie spice instead of just cinnamon. I also folded in 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled! It was good, believe me! Thanks

Favorite Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
The best I've ever made, anyway. This turned out very good, even my picky kids liked it. The only change I made was maple syrup because I didn't have any honey in the cupboard. Thanks!

Strawberry Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
I just made this dessert last night for a bbq and it was such a hit! I had none to take home and there were only 4 adults and four kids there! (ok maybe we're pigs) The only thing I changed was blueberries for the bananas. Great easy summertime treat!

Pumpkin Corn Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
i made these muffins with a mexican-themed chicken cassarole, because i had some leftover pumpkin in the freezer from the holidays. my kids and boyfriend loved them. i didn't deviate at all from the recipe, and they are not a dessert muffin at all, more of a cornbread taste, but very good. thanks!
