The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
very yummy. I doubled the recipe and substituted the croutons with a cup of bread crumbs, added tsp of Italian seasoning, and did not double the mustard. this is definitely a recipe to try again.

Cindy's Beef Tips

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
My family would give this a four, but I'm going to rate it a 5. It was easy to make and everyone went back for seconds. I did cook it in the crockpot. The gravy might have turned out thicker if I would've cooked it in the skillet.

Old-Fashioned Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I made a hole pot and only have about one serving left. This was a huge success. I did make it with a leftover chicken carcass that had one breast left, one box of broth, 2 boxes of water and 8 bullion cubes, and dried parsley. It was heavy on the noodles, but very good. This is definitely a do over.

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
This is a great recipe to have for when the abundance of the garden comes quickly. I did make some changes. I had kielbasa, so that is what I used. I also omitted the zucchini (none in the garden) and used regular tomatoes. I think that this could easily be modified to what veggies you have on hand.

These biscuits are awesome. I did them in my stand mixer and used butter instead of shortening.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
At my house we rate things by "don't do that again" or that was a "do-over." My husband went a step further and said that was the best frosting he had ever had. It reminded him of his grandma's frosting. This is the best "review" that I have ever gotten from him before. This was not simply a "do-over", but a please do that again.

Tortellini, Steak, and Caesar

I made some variations that fit with our family. We garnished the green salad with ranch dressing, regular crutons, and cubed venison that I broiled.

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
This is an awesome bread recipe. I even messed it up and it still come out light, fluffy, and with a wonderful taste. I accidentally used white sugar. After I realized this, I did not want to start over so I added one tablespoon of molasses. Half of one of the loaves is already gone. I had a hard time getting the loaves to rise above the bread pan. I don't really care. I always go for taste and function over appearance.

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I should have listened to what others were saying about the frosting. It had way too much cream cheese in the frosting and that is why I gave it 4 stars. I did also increase the yeast to 4 tsp and proofed it in the warm milk, water, and sugar. I mixed this in my new stand mixer (my ultimate Christmas present) with the other dry ingredients. I will definitely be making this again. I think that I will try to use 3 oz of cream cheese to see how that works. Oh, I made these for Christmas morning (made them the day before and put them in the fridge over night) and they are already gone. They are just the right amount of sweet. This was a big hit with the family. Thanks for the recipe.

Great-Aunt Nina's Noodles and Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
This was a great recipe. I used pheasant instead of chicken. We now have a favorite after the boys go hunting. I do think that there should have been more noodles. T think that I will double the noodle recipe next time. I also used more flour and need to lay them out separately after I cut them. They all stuck together while they were drying. Still a new family favorite.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
This is the best cookie recipe! My boys, including the husband, loved it! This beats the toll house recipe by a landslide! I added chocolate pudding because that is what I had on hand. I am going to make this cookie with my special education class and we are going to sell them to the other students at lunch time. I am confident that this is going to be a hit! Thanks bunches!
