Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
Very good and what i remember my grandma making, but never had a recipe. This is how my experience was, I used mini cupcakes instead becuase i made these for christmas and thought a big cupcake would be too much for people, plus they are rich and chocolately. Baked them for 15 minutes. I still had half of the cream cheese mixture left over so i made a second batch of the cupcake part to use it up. I used weak coffee instead of water just thought it would give a nicer flavor. Only filled then half way with chocolate then a tsp of cream cheese so they didnt run over the liners. And they came out wonderful.

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
They were okay. I didnt like them but the kids ate them up and said that they were good. I actually made these by mistake, i usually make the Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III from this site, which are similar sandwich cookies with filling and they are way better. So if you looking for a wonderful delicious nutter butter like peanut butter cookie try those instead, they are a definate 5 star cookie.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
Delicious peanut butter cookie. It looked from the picture that they were alot bigger I was surprised that it says to only drop 1 tsp of dough. I think next time i will make them bigger. The cookies turned out wonderful and the filling was delicious also. Kids love them. You could probably add some jam to the fillinf to make a pbj cookie.

Delicious, just like our church makes. Definatley add a touch of nutmeg, it makes a big difference in taste. This was my first attempt at making these cookies and i have to say it was very easy. I wanted to dust mine with sugar but forgot, oh well they are still very good. Will dust with sugar next time.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
These are the best chocolate chip cookies! I have tried several recipes and these are the best. We also like the big fat chewy ones from this site but they are a little big and rich for the kids. The pudding helps keep the cookies soft and you dont taste it. I added 1/2 tsp salt because every cookie recipe needs salt. Delicious and the best.

Peanut Butter Temptations II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I have made these 2 years in a row for Christmas and they are one of my favorites. I followed the recipe exactly, it didnt need any changes. I did freeze the peanut butter cups so they didnt melt as much and put my pan out in the snow to cool. I always make 2 batches because one is not enough.

Rugelach

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
This is my second time making these and i love them. I do seem to have a little problem with mixing the dough in the food processor because when i add the sour cream it gets all sticky and goey and not crumbly like the recipe says, not sure why. But, it does come out wonderful and the dough rolls out nice. It is a little time consuming but worth it. I make an apricot/almond filling and the walnut/raisin filling as in the recipe and the rasin filling is my favorite. I do brush them with egg wash. I make 2 batches at a time and freeze them.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
Wonderful brownies! I have made several different brownie recipes in the past, some box mixes and some homemade. These are the best i have made. Never make a box mix again. I didnt use the icing because i just didnt have the time. Next time i will double it because a 8" square pan is just not enough.

Wonderful recipe! The whole family loved it, including a 2 year old a 4 year old and a meat and potatoes husband. Better than my usual shrimp and pasta recipe. I did add 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes to the garlic and a Tablspoon of lemon juice to the sauce. Cant wait to make it again. Delicious.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This recipe worked perfect for my family. Everyone loved them. I used one cup of regular white sugar and one cup of sifted confectoner sugar. Just to make it a little sweeter. Rolled out beautifully, no trouble at all. Kids had a blast making these and decorating them with icing. Nice soft cookie and holds the shape of the cut out after baking. I made turkeys and pumpkins for Thanksgiving and i was happy to see that after they came out of the oven the cookie still looked like a turkey.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Delicious. Tastes more like a muffin than a cookie but tastes wonderful. Very soft and moist. I used about 1 and half cups of apples, 1 cup didnt seem like enough and we have lots of apples from our trees. The other thing i changed was that i used butter instead of shortening. I dont know why they would want you to use shortening. Butter worked out just fine. These are so delicious i will make them often. Icing was delicious also.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
Wonderful mac and cheese. I dont like too much of a processed velveeta taste so i used half velveeta and half a mixture of shredded cheeses. The family loved it and it is pretty easy to make. The best recipe for mac and cheese so far. Will make one a week at least. Wanted to add that i often make this and mix in 1lb browned ground beef or turkey and bake as directed for a complete meal.
