About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to make Saag Gosht (indian lamb and spinach), Chicken pilau, Vodka pasta, Steak with green peppercorns, and risottos - any kind!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Most of my recipe ideas come from my wife's mom, my italian friends, Gordon Ramsay and here
My cooking triumphs
I cook now and again for large groups of people (up to 100)on a very tight budget - I like trying to do different things rather than just soups and stews
My cooking tragedies
I can never make very good bread or very good day....

Vegetarian Pate
this started off as a disaster - I used jacob's cream crackers and adding these proportions created a crumbly mess. But I managed to save it by adding twice as many peas, some soy sauce and red wine - all of which contributed to getting the texture I wanted. Then it went down very very well with some interesting flavours going on.

Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Meatballs
great recipe - people couldn't believe this had no meat in it. Will definitely make again. personally I wasn't amazingly keen on the sweet and sour sauce - bit too ketchupy for me but it went down very well so I may well make again (but I might also look for a more authentic recipe)

Vegetarian Haggis
didn't rate this much. didn't taste much like haggis to me - I added a fair bit of pepper for a closer taste. That said it was still good - just not really haggis.
