Split Pea Soup

I will treasure this recipe! It was just scrumptious. Everyone in my family enjoyed it. The flavor and the consistency were just perfect. I only made minor changes to the original recipe. I only put 1 onion in, increased the potatoes to 2, put a bit of extra water in (about 2 cups), 2 cloves of garlic, and I used about a pound of diced ham rather than the ham bone in the original recipe. I was tempted to add chicken stock because I wasn't convinced that there would be enough flavor, but I'm so glad that I didn't. The onion, ham, peas, and water simmering results in a delicious flavor. Really, really good. Thanks to the original poster for a great recipe.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Wazzu Tailgate Chili

Asparagus Quiche

Wow!! A perfect quiche recipe...finally! :) I made this for mother's day dinner and everybody devoured it. I made one bacon asparagus quiche and one smoked salmon and asparagus quiche (as per another reviewer's suggestion). The salmon one was by far the favorite. It had a beautiful flavor and it was perfectly cooked. The asparus was gorgeous in it. I made a few changes to the recipe. Instead of the half-and-half, I used sour cream and oat milk. It worked just fine. I will make this again and again! It was to die for. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Deirdre :)

Crab Cakes Chiarello

LOVED these crab cakes. Everyone in my house (even my anti-seafood husband) enjoyed these. I halved the recipe and used Italian seasoning instead of seafood seasoning. I have made salmon cakes before and fried them - these were MUCH better baked. They weren't greasy at all. I served them on buns with lettuce and tomatoes. I'll make these a lot in the future! Thanks to the original poster who shared. This is a gem!

Simple Sloppy Joes

Wow - this is by far the best Sloppy Joes recipe I have found. It was so flavorful and everybody in my house ate it up quickly. I used both green and red peppers for a bit of color, and I had no tomato paste on hand. Instead, I used a bit of extra tomato sauce.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Loved this bread recipe. So far, it was the best recipe I have tried in my machine. I especially liked that there was a huge amount of seeds. I also tried substituting the butter for oil (worked great) and the honey with sugar (also worked great). This is a definite keeper!

Buttertart Squares

What a great recipe! I LOVE buttertart squares and these squares were great. Next time, I plan to omit the coconut. They would be just fine without it...possibly even better. Make sure you cook them fully before cutting them or you'll make a big mess!

Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup

Absolutely delicious! Everyone in my house enjoyed this soup. I especially loved the pasta in it. (Just be careful not to overcook.) I also really enjoyed the base of the soup - it was perfect. I will make this again and again.

Garlic Yeast Bread

Wow - this was GREAT bread. I used 2 cloves of garlic instead of 1 and had to add 3 tbsp. of water to get the right consistency in the bread machine. It was a fairly small loaf (I chose 1.5 lbs.) but it was perfect to serve with dinner. The outside of perfectly crunch and the inside wasn't too dense. I will make this again and again - it was perfect!

Salsa Chicken

I LOVE this recipe! This is one of my favorite dinners to make. I usually add a few potatoes and bake it covered for 45 minutes. Then I take the cover off, add the cheese and continue to cook for 5 minutes. I've tried it both ways - with and without the potatoes - and it's definitely better with. It's also good with a few frozen green beans thrown in. Great recipe - thanks for posting it!

Sweet And Sour Chicken Meatballs

Wow. Incredible recipe! I made a couple of adjustments. First, I used frozen chicken meatballs. Second, I only had pineapple chunks on hand and they worked really well. My husband commented that this dish tasted like we ordered it from a Chinese restaurant. It was delicious!

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

By far, the best spinach dip I have every tasted! Everyone devoured it. The water chestnuts give it a great consistency and the vegetable soup gives it its yummy flavor. This is definitely a keeper!

Greek Pasta Salad III

Wow - this was an incredible salad! I doubled the batch and it fed us for ages. The dressing was especially tasty since it didn't fade as the salad stayed in the fridge. (Usually, pasta salad seems to absorb the dressing overnight.) I added big chunks of cucumbers and extra tomatoes. Next time, I plan to get the good olives at the deli rather than using canned olives. They really are tastier. Thanks to the original poster for this awesome recipe!

Triple Berry Crisp

Wow! This was the perfect dessert. I have made many crisps and cobblers and this by far, was the best. I made it with blueberries, frozen raspberries and peaches and it was just to die for. There was the perfect amount of crisp and putting half on the bottom was a great idea. I will make this again and again with various fruits. Thank you for this great recipe.

Nontraditional Crab Dip

A very good dip. Most people really enjoyed it when I served it. I liked being able to use imitation crab. I often find that when I have this in my fridge, there aren't many recipes that I can use it in. Thanks - great recipe!

Meatball Soup

This was a good recipe and my family loved the soup! I had to make quite a few adjustments though. First, I used big meatballs because that's what I had on hand. I added a lot more garlic and about 1/2 a cup of diced tomatoes. It seemed to be a bit bland, so I added a few tablespoons of onion soup. Also, I covered the soup before I put in the pasta. It turned out beautifully, but I would recommend a few changes for a tastier soup. Thanks for the recipe!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Really nice flavor in this recipe. But I agree with another poster that it was just a tad bit too soupy. Next time, I'll leave out the chicken broth and the liquid from the diced tomatoes. But overall, it was really good and I would make it again.

Jelly Bean Nests

These are so cute and fun to make. They taste okay, but the kids really don't care how they taste! I saw another recipe in a book with butterscotch chips, peanut butter, corn flakes and the same noodles as this recipe. I'll have to give it a try and compare them. I also like the fact that they don't require much time or many ingredients. I'll definitely keep this recipe on hand for future Easters.
