Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2004
I think this could be a 5 star recipe if you spiced it up with hot red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, or jalapenos. I made it exactly according to the directions and it was on the bland side with a sweet undertone. (Taste improved after adding tobassco sauce). I'll make it again, but definitely spice it up more.

Chickpea and Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
I was looking for a low-fat, quick and tasty soup and this fit the bill. I only used 1 t of olive oil and substituted 2 cans of chicken broth for the bullion. I think the fresh rosemary is what really makes this soup. 5 stars for ease of preparation and taste.

Babe Ruth Bars II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
Wonderful Recipe. I made these to bring to work before Christmas. They were gone before noon. Everyone who tried them loved them. I also added 1 1/2 cups of peanuts. Liked them so much, I made a second batch for home the next day.

Mixed Vegetables

This was a nice change from steamed vegetables. Husband wasn't crazy about it, but I liked it.

Babe Ruth Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
This recipe was absolutely fantastic. I took the advice of other reviewers and also added 1 1/2 cups of peanuts. I cooked the peanut butter/corn syrup mixture until it began to bubble, then removed it from the heat and mixed in the rest of the ingredients. A definite keeper. Brought them to work and everyone wanted the recipe.
