Simple Savory Pork Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
This pork roast had a great flavour. I made a rub out of the spices with 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. I didn't use fresh rosemary because I didn't have any, so I just used a smaller amount of dried rosemary. I cooked it in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. It was very tender.

Simple Salmon Chowder II

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
I altered this recipe a bit. I used leftover cooked potato cubes instead of scalloped potatoes, added 2 tbsp. of flour to thicken the soup slightly, frozen corn instead of canned, and I did not have evaporated milk so left that out too. It was very good, even my kids liked it. It's a great way to use up cooked salmon and potatoes.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
Delicious! I used red snapper fillets because the store I went to didn't have Tilapia. I also used garlic powder and seasoning salt instead of onion powder and celery salt. This recipe makes me want to eat fish more often! Thanks!

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 5, 2007
I think I would give this recipe 4.5. I will definately make it again, although I did make a few changes. I think that browning the meat first was a good idea and enhanced the flavour. I used cream of chicken soup based on others suggestions and I also added 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, dash pepper and 1 tbsp dijon mustard to the soup before pouring it over the pork chops. It was very good.

Aileen's Punch

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
This punch was really good! I did make the frozen juice ring out of some of the juice which was a great idea because then you don't need ice cubes and I think it stays cold way longer.

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I used cut, frozen green beans and cooked them in the microwave for about 4 minutes first. I then added the sauce. I used 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 milk, instead of all milk. It was great!

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
This marinade was the first one I've really ever tried, so I don't have anything to compare it with. It did make very tender BBQ chicken breasts, but I felt it was missing something in the flavour. I will use it again though, maybe adding a few more spices.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
This recipe is excellent and impressive. It looks really appetizing too. It would be good for guests. I did make a few changes: I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs, I added a bit of salt and seasonings to the breadcrumbs. I fried the chicken for about 7-10 minutes but found that it wasn't quite cooked yet so I then baked it at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. As soon as I was done making the sauce in the frying pan I poured this over the chicken that was already in the oven and continued to bake. The fresh basil and pimiento really make this dish. I served with egg noodles covered in the sauce and asparagus. Gourmet!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: May 15, 2007
I did change this recipe a little. I marinated the beef in the white wine. I used regular onion instead of green onion and fresh mushrooms instead of canned. I also added 2 tsp of minced garlic to the onion when frying. I also added about 1/2 a cup of cream cheese along with the sour cream. I think the addition of cream cheese and garlic really made this recipe great.

Slow Cooker Chicken Parisienne

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
This is very easy and good, but next time I will add some garlic and maybe some more seasoning. I will also add 1/2 as much flour. I will make this again with these adjustments.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly. This is probably the simplest recipe on earth, but I feel it is probably lacking some ingredients. If I make this again I will definately follow some of the other suggestions to maybe give it some more flavour. I used boneless pork chops. Next time I will use bone-in pork chops I think.

Tomato Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
I used only 1/2 an onion, added 1 tbsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp salt and pepper and some parsley. With these changes I would rate it a 5. It's almost like Greek salad without the feta cheese. Easy to make with few ingredients! Thanks!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
These are great cookies! I didn't find the dough too difficult to work with. I left out the cloves because I didn't have any, but will try to add this next time. I would suggest to bake for 9 minutes. I will definately make these again!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
This was a great recipe. I used boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts, and that worked well. I also substituted chicken broth for the wine, since I didn't have any. The only thing that I would change next time is to add a bit of salt and pepper to the sauce and maybe some garlic. This is a very nice recipe to make for guests, although it took me a while to prepare. The sauce was also great on our rice and asparagus, instead of plain butter.

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
We're not crazy about pork chops, but every once in a while I try to make them again anyway. My husband thought they were excellent, I thought they were about 4 stars, the kids liked them too. I mostly followed the recipe except used a bit less salt and used chicken broth instead of water. I left the lid on the whole time.
