Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
This was a good recipe, but I would try to thicken the sauce a bit next time. I used 1/2 the sour cream, and didn't add the white wine. I think I will try a different beef stroganoff recipe next time.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
This was a great recipe. I used boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts, and that worked well. I also substituted chicken broth for the wine, since I didn't have any. The only thing that I would change next time is to add a bit of salt and pepper to the sauce and maybe some garlic. This is a very nice recipe to make for guests, although it took me a while to prepare. The sauce was also great on our rice and asparagus, instead of plain butter.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
This was a really great recipe! Instead of using 3/4 cup of mayo, I used 1/2 mayo and 1/2 sour cream, and also added some garlic powder and a few other spices. It was great! I will definately make it again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
This was a very good pot roast, but I would only give it 4 stars because what I think I have realized is that my family isn't crazy about pot roast!

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs. The meat was very tender, but my family didn't really enjoy the taste. This is a different type of flavor than we are used to. I think that it would taste a lot better by adding enough sugar to give it a sweet flavor. I won't make this recipe again.

Chicken In Sour Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
This was a GREAT recipe. The lemon juice and dill add great flavour. I used skinless chicken drumsticks, and I didn't brown them first. It tasted great without browning, which makes it just that much easier to make. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I will definately put this as one of my favorite chicken recipes.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
This was very tasty. I would call it beef stew. I didn't brown the meat first, and it turned out fine. I also left out the carrot and added green pepper instead. I also added minced garlic, 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper and only used 1 tbsp brown sugar. It was sweet enough. I will make this again someday.

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
This was a pretty good recipe. It seemed that the vegetables needed a little liquid to cook in, but it worked out anyway. The meat wasn't very tender, but that could have been the beef that I bought, not the recipe?!? I used onion, broccoli, green pepper and garlic. The sauce did have a good flavour.

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
These potatoes were very tasty! I cut the red potatoes into 1/8ths and cooked them at 400 degrees 45 minutes covered and then 30 minutes uncovered. They have a definate lemony flavour. I will make these again I'm sure.

Simple Salmon Chowder II

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
I altered this recipe a bit. I used leftover cooked potato cubes instead of scalloped potatoes, added 2 tbsp. of flour to thicken the soup slightly, frozen corn instead of canned, and I did not have evaporated milk so left that out too. It was very good, even my kids liked it. It's a great way to use up cooked salmon and potatoes.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
These are great cookies! I didn't find the dough too difficult to work with. I left out the cloves because I didn't have any, but will try to add this next time. I would suggest to bake for 9 minutes. I will definately make these again!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
I followed the recipe except for adding only 1/8th of a tsp. of cayenne (I didn't want it to be so spicy that my kids wouldn't eat it). I also used boneless, skinless chicken thighs, which I would not recommend. I think the recipe would definately be better with chicken breast strips. I also used the remaining "sauce" (more like seasoned oil) over rice and asparagus which I also wouldn't recommend. It made everything taste too limey. But, overall I think this is a good recipe. I might make this again in the summer with a green salad.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
We loved this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly. It is a bit time consuming to make, but the flavour is worth it. The only thing I would do differently is buy thicker pork chops next time. They weren't as tender as some other reviewers have mentioned. I served this with egg noodles on the side, covered in the sauce. Excellent! I will make this again.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2007
I baked this chicken for 45 min. at 375 degrees and used 1 1/2 tbsp. soya sauce and 1 1/2 tbsp. worchester sauce. It was good, but not great. If I make this recipe again I will add way more herbs and spices and use 1/2 the butter.

Simple Savory Pork Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
This pork roast had a great flavour. I made a rub out of the spices with 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. I didn't use fresh rosemary because I didn't have any, so I just used a smaller amount of dried rosemary. I cooked it in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. It was very tender.

Tomato Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
I used only 1/2 an onion, added 1 tbsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp salt and pepper and some parsley. With these changes I would rate it a 5. It's almost like Greek salad without the feta cheese. Easy to make with few ingredients! Thanks!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
Delicious! I used red snapper fillets because the store I went to didn't have Tilapia. I also used garlic powder and seasoning salt instead of onion powder and celery salt. This recipe makes me want to eat fish more often! Thanks!
