Apple Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
Only used 1 cup sugar and skipped the celery. Everyone loved it and thought it was better than Mom's.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese III

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
I tried this recipe twice and it was dry and tasteless. I really wanted to like it because it was easy. The first time I followed the recipe exactly, the second time I took someone's advice to mix all the ingedients with the macaroni and it came out worse! I think the proportions are off. Maybe this recipe should call for 8 oz of macaroni.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
Whoa! Hold the salt! This was too salty for me. I had to add an apple and some extra celery just to be able to eat it. Everyone liked it, but it was nothing special.

Cranberry Relish II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Excellent! I used half the sugar and put the oranges in the processor after cutting them, but not peeling them. Didn't notice a difference and this made it very easy.

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
I was looking for a lentil soup like Mom used to make, but discovered this one's even better. Mom and Dad thought so too! My only change was using a reduced-fat sausage, doubling it and slicing it before cooking. The recipe also needed salt. We had a meal for 6 and then froze the rest for a future meal. Lots of food, not a lot of work.

Chewy Oatmeal Cherry Toffee Crisps

Really excellent and a nice change from our usual household favorites of chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies. I didn't change a thing!

Bat Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
A big hit with the kids and so easy to do. The only problem I had was with the eyes. The store was out of red gel icing, so I bought a tube of red decorating icing and put the bat's eyes on with toothpicks. It worked, but was a little time consuming.

Pasta and Beans

Simple, healthy, but lacking something. I have used a similar recipe that adds, garlic, lemon and sage. It is much tastier!

Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
Not very good, unless you LOVE the taste of "dried Italian Seasoning". I would reduce that spice by at least 50% and add anything else....garlic, onion, pepperoni. Tomato sauce for dipping was a must because it had very little taste. Also, there was way too much filling for the amount of bread dough the recipe called for.

Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I am giving this 5 stars because it is easy, tasty and my picky 2-year old wanted seconds! We halved the recipe for one pound of breast meat and still had plenty of marinade.

Spinach and Mushroom Frittata

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
I would give this 4.5 stars because it was very tasty! I have made this recipe twice. The first time I used regular mushrooms because I did not have portobellos. It worked just as well.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
If you like hot artichoke dip, you'll love this chicken recipe. I added fresh garlic and light mayo, but there is nothing light about this recipe. It was very rich. My kids would not eat it with the sauce on it.

Easy Portobello Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
Tasty and quick. I used fresh garlic instead of garlic flavored oil. Next time I would cut the total amount of olive oil in half, to make it even healthier and lighter.
