About this Cook
Daughter of an Army Cook! My Dad really knew how to cook, despite what some Army men might say about the cooks. My Mom was a good cook too, and everyone in my family is at home in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts! What else is there? ;o)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas (my Mom's birthday) were the best times for food and family get-togethers.
My cooking triumphs
Pierogies and Eclairs!
My cooking tragedies
Well, if you cook, you have tragedies! The worst was Chili that I added baking soda to. I read on the Internet that that would cut down on {gas} and I thought that would be cool, but it was absolutely awful and couldn't be saved - I ran to the grocery store twice for more ingredients, trying to salvage it, but to no avail. Don't ever try that!!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker
Just wanted to tell you that BJ's Wholesale Club has Hawaiian Pink Sea Salt in a grinder. I use it for everything/table salt and it's not very expensive.

Chocolate Covered Bacon Strips
Chocolate covered bacon, weird as it may sound, is really good. If you haven't tried it yet, you have nothing to lose. Give it a shot and see what you think. In the least, you can say you tried it! :)

Baked Buffalo Wings
I've only used frozen wing parts ONCE (not for this recipe) and they are pumped with liquid to enhance flavor - they WILL be soggy! The one and only time that I used them, I had to dump the liquid off 3 or 4 times while baking, and they still didn't really crisp. My tip would be to use the ones at the meat counter, NOT the ones in the freezer section of the store!
