Sunday Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
ok, so this may not be true to the original recipe but I had to review because these had to be the BEST yeast rolls I have EVER made (I've made quite a few from this site)...I proofed 1 1/2 packets yeast in 1/4 c warm water with pinch sugar, used 3/4 c milk instead of the 1 c water, 1/2 c melted butter instead of oil, 2 c all-purpose flour and 2 c bread flour...I mixed the ingredients according to the recipe, turned onto floured surface and kneaded for 5 minutes, let rise in warm place for 2 hours, separated into 24 dough balls, covered and let rise for 2 more hours, baked as directed...these will surely be the staple roll recipe in my house forever...thanks for submitting the recipe!!!

Healthier Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
This is SO much better than regular peach cobbler. It doesn't give me that sick feeling from consuming too much sugar. I used honey in place of brown sugar and brown rice flour in place of the cornstarch in the peach mixture. I used half whole wheat and half brown rice flour, 4 TBL vegan butter, and slightly less white sugar in the biscuit mixture. Thanks so much for submitting, I will be using this for apple cobbler also!

This was 5 stars after the revisions I made...I doubled to recipe and added one can of cream of mushroom and one can of cream of chicken (instead of cream of celery per my taste)...1 cup turkey gravy...1 cup of chicken stock...and it came out wonderfully creamy and full of flavor...this will be the after Thanksgiving recipe in my house for years to come...thanks

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
Ok, I changed alot of stuff but this recipe was THE BEST chili recipe I have ever had. I made it vegetarian by using black bean burgers as the meat base. I added a can of pinto beans and black beans. I only used one can of kidney beans and one can of diced tomatoes. I added one more Tbl of chili powder, 1/2 Tbl of cumin, dashes or paprika, oregano, garlic and onion powder and 2 Tbl worcestershire sauce. I then added enough water to my desired thickness and simmered on the stovetop for 2 hours. Thank you so much for a recipe that was a good base but that I could also change and make it my own. AWESOME!!!

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
I used half whole wheat and half white wheat flours, steel cut oats, brown suagr instead of white, unsweet almond milk, and 2 T canola oil...these turned out fantastic..I took them to my running group and everyone raved about how good they were...and good for them. Thanks for a recipe that is great the way it is and can also be changed easily for preference.

One and a Half Minute Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Excellent!! You definitely DO NOT need the entire amount of sugar. I used just less than one cup of brown sugar(that's all I had on hand)and it was PLENTY sweet, I also added about 3 TBL of wheat germ. This is a great recipe when the kids want something quick and sweet. Thanks!

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
You only need to JUST cover the bottom of the pan with oil, then cover the bottom of the pan with a layer of kernels. I made one batch with white sugar and one with brown sugar. The brown sugar batch was WAY better...and this is way better for you than store bought bags....thanks!

Oh man this was GOOD!!! I used whole wheat flour, an extra 1/2 cup of (unsweetened) applesauce, just over 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/2 cup regular oats in the mix, and sprinkled half a packet on top....baked in 4 mini loaf pan for 25 minutes. My kids even loved it!!! Thanks for such a great recipe that still tastes great when modified!!! Update: Added 2 Tbls ground flaxseed and a little almond milk....STILL AWESOME!!!

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
These set up kinda weird, not really like brownies. Great with a scoop of ice cream. The butterscotch/butter mixture made for a wonderful gooey inside while the marshmallows added a slight crunchiness which was very nice. I will definitely make these again. Thanks for a different dessert recipe!!! UPDATE: these brownies are DIVINE the second day!!!
