Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: May 14, 2013
I have never made a recipe this easy that tasted so good! I reduced the sugar in the batter because I was putting fresh blueberry preserves on top instead of fresh berries...this was fantastic!! Thank you!!

Cream of Mushroom Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
This was good with modifications. I only used 3 cups of broth and 4T of flour. Everything else was the same and it still could have used either more flour or less liquid. The taste was amazing after I altered the liquid/flour ratio. Thanks for submitting.

Healthier Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
This is SO much better than regular peach cobbler. It doesn't give me that sick feeling from consuming too much sugar. I used honey in place of brown sugar and brown rice flour in place of the cornstarch in the peach mixture. I used half whole wheat and half brown rice flour, 4 TBL vegan butter, and slightly less white sugar in the biscuit mixture. Thanks so much for submitting, I will be using this for apple cobbler also!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
I am vegan so substituted a few things but wanted to leave my review because the base of this recipe is fantastic! I used 1/3 cup Earth Balance margerine and 1/3 cup coconut oil, used organic brown/white sugars, omitted the eggs and added 1/4 cup unsweet almond milk, added a little nutmeg and ginger, and reduced the flour (whole wheat) by 1/4 cup. These were amazing, soft and chewy, wonderful recipe that can be altered without changing the taste tremendously...thanks!

WOW...I made these vegan by using all organic ingredients, egg replacer, carob powder, and Earth Balance margerine...I even added some ground flax...I must say, these tasted just like chocolate cake...soft and delicate...I have to now make another batch because my boys gobbled them up...

Pumpkin-Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
They are ok, more like bread than a cookie. They weren't pumpkin-y enough even after adding another cup of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice in addition to the cinnamon...

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
AWESOME! I made them vegan by subbing Earth Balance butter, egg substitute, 1/2 cup organic brown sugar, 1/4 cup organic white sugar (next time I will reduce the brown sugar to 1/4 cup also as it was WAY sweet for our tastes), applesauce to thicken, used apple pie spice instead of cinnamon, and pecans instead of walnuts...this was magnificant and I will now be making a triple batch for my running group...thanks!!!

One and a Half Minute Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Excellent!! You definitely DO NOT need the entire amount of sugar. I used just less than one cup of brown sugar(that's all I had on hand)and it was PLENTY sweet, I also added about 3 TBL of wheat germ. This is a great recipe when the kids want something quick and sweet. Thanks!

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
You only need to JUST cover the bottom of the pan with oil, then cover the bottom of the pan with a layer of kernels. I made one batch with white sugar and one with brown sugar. The brown sugar batch was WAY better...and this is way better for you than store bought bags....thanks!

Chocolate Pudding Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
O-M-G...HEAVEN in a baking dish!!! I used half white and half brown sugar in the mix (very sweet so will reduce the sugar by a few TBL next time), unsweet chocolate almond milk in place of milk, and 3Tbl Earth Balance butter in place of oil. I also used half plain soy milk and half water in place of water, didn't put any chocolate chips on top because I didn't have any, and only used half brown sugar on top. This was good warm and DIVINE cold. Next time I will use some dark chocolate chips or carob chips on top but then I would need to add like 3 more stars I'm sure, I don't know how this could get any better!!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
Ok, I changed alot of stuff but this recipe was THE BEST chili recipe I have ever had. I made it vegetarian by using black bean burgers as the meat base. I added a can of pinto beans and black beans. I only used one can of kidney beans and one can of diced tomatoes. I added one more Tbl of chili powder, 1/2 Tbl of cumin, dashes or paprika, oregano, garlic and onion powder and 2 Tbl worcestershire sauce. I then added enough water to my desired thickness and simmered on the stovetop for 2 hours. Thank you so much for a recipe that was a good base but that I could also change and make it my own. AWESOME!!!
