Cherry Dream Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
"Dream" is right! This cake is delicious. A little time-consuming, yes, but well worth the effort. The result of this cake is so light and flavorful, moist and cool (seeing as it's refrigerated), it's hard to resist having another piece. And wow, that cream cheese and whipped cream topping is perfect with the cherries! I enjoyed this cake very much and will plan to make it again.

Honey Spice Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
Yum, this bread is GOOD! So moist, so flavorful. It's not overly sweet, so it works for breakfast. This is a great recipe and I plan to use it often in the future.

Savory Sausage Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
This recipe is excellent. I've made it several times for breakfast and it gets gobbled up. It goes great with fried eggs over-easy. I might try baking muffins of them the next time I make the recipe.

Peanut Butter Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
These muffins were good. Not too sweet, so they work for breakfast, and they taste great with jelly. I'll be making these again!

Quick and Easy Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
This fruit dip is the best; it's deliciously unbeatable! So easy, too. I can't rave enough about it. Goes great with some slices of apple (best when refrigerated) or strawberries.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
These muffins are fantastic! I can't praise them enough. I did as others suggested and they turned out perfectly. I bake them very often, whenever I have a couple of apples on hand.

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
Yum! I added a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, and used 2 cups of apples, shredding one and chunking the other. These alterations required a longer baking time. This loaf is so-o-o good and I'll definitely be making it again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
Wow, these were great! I added 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, just because it usually goes well with cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. I also topped them with cream cheese frosting. I believe I have a new favorite cookie. :0) I baked them for my church's kids' Bible time; the kids gobbled them up and asked for more. Many thanks go to whoever submitted this recipe.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
YUM! These were great cookies. I did as others suggested and switched the measurements of sugars. The recipe calls for the perfect amount of oatmeal, so as to not overwhelm the cookies and make them heavy. I've made them twice already, and they were a big hit.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
This was really good. The Parmesan was a bit overwhelming, making it dry and thick; it still tasted awesome, though! We lessened the amount of Parmesan and added a bit of milk, and it was better. (We did chicken Alfredo, by the way.) Thanks for this recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
As promised, this recipe turned out great. The hot water and baking soda does something for these these cookies. I might add a bit of baking powder the next time I made these as they were a bit flat for my liking.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
Really great cookies. I did as others suggested and increased the flour by 1/2 cup and the baking soda by 1/2 teaspoon. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon; it gave a very subtle, essential taste that blended perfectly with the oatmeal and chocolate chips, making a warm, delicious cookie. I love the recipe.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
These muffins were very good! I did think the crumb topping was a bit dry, and they weren't as flavorful as banana bread. But overall, these muffins were yummy in my tummy. I'll be making them again.

Amish Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
These cookies were delicious. They were very light and fluffy from the powdered sugar, and not at all greasy like I expected from the 1 C. vegetable oil. I rolled the cookies in cinnamon-sugar prior to baking, and also added an extra 1/2 tsp. vanilla to the dough. The cookies hardened after a day or so, though.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Delicious! However, these cookies are so moist that they almost fall apart when you pick them up. I might bake them for a few extra minutes the next time. The glaze was so thick, I had to add a few tablespoons of milk. Otherwise, these cookies were fabulous.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
This makes a beautiful, delicious loaf. The amount of cinnamon is just right. I mixed the dry and wet ingredients separately rather than combining all at once. The bread rises quite a bit while baking, and although mine didn't overflow the pan, I placed a cookie sheet underneath the pan. I'll definitely be baking this quick moist and flavorful bread again.

Apple Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
Very tasty! The yogurt gave these muffins great moisture and the chopped apples were so tender. I omitted the raisins. I didn't think there was enough sugar, though; I'll add 1/4 C. extra next time I bake them. Also, the muffins stick TERRIBLY to paper muffin liners. They would do best in greased muffin tins.

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
MMM, yummy! This soup is so tasty and filling. We used chopped Canadian bacon in place of the regular bacon, and I think it made it better--gave it a almost sweet taste. Also, we used milk with a bit of flour rather than half-and-half (we didn't have any on hand), and it turned out just fine. This recipe is a "keeper"! :0)
