Frog Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
I made these cupcakes last year for all the kids at our family do and they totally loved them. I didn't use the green decorator sugar because you really don't need it after colouring the icing. However you make them they will be a hit. I'm going to make them again soon.

Smashed Cauliflower Side Dish

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
This is a great side dish. I'm on a low carb diet and this is a great replacement for potatoes. It would be good for anyone though. I even have it cold and it's still great.

Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
I give this a five star because they really are so good. I've been making these for years, I've even added grated cheese and garlic to the mix. When I was growing up I used to think these were our very own family recipe. lol Thanks so much for bringing up an old favourite.

Rosie's Mac and Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
We loved this recipe. I did not bake this as I've found that that sometimes dry's out the pasta. I added the soup and then the cheese, a chedder, mozzorella mix and let it sit two minutes to fully melt and it was amazing. Next day's leftover's were just as creamy and cheesy. I did not put in the pimentos because my daughter and grand-daughter wouldn't eat it with them. This is the one from now on. Thanks to Grandma Bee

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Really great way to have tender beef. I loved it. I have a note for JohnnyD....You can use a dutch oven to make this in your oven or you can use a really big frying pan on your stove top. You won't cook it for hours but you can simmer if for a couple. After your beef is browned, saute your onions and peppers then follow the rest of the recipe and put everyone back in the pan and let it go. Don't lift that lid, just let it go. Hope that helps...Rosie

Lemon Meringue Icebox Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
This pie is great. Thanks Christine. Just a reminder, to help get a great meringue make sure there are no traces of oil or grease on your mixing bowl or beaters and no egg yolk in your whites.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
This recipe is great..thanks Robin. I would like to help answer a question for Nikka about the dressing. You can keep it really simple with 3 ingredients. Bread, butter and poultry seasoning. Tear up the bread into chunks, season it and add chunks of butter to hold it together. Stuff it in the bird and enjoy. You can add anything to this basic dressing, garlic, onions, celery, cranberrys. Whatever you like. Some people put sausage in their's, you can't go wrong. Just make sure you use lots of seasoning and butter. It will be great. We like it plain because my husband does not like garlic or onions. Hope this helps.

Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Thanks for posting this recipe, my family has been making these for years and we still love them. Note for "Cherry" the recipe needs the egg and flour to bind it together. Sqeeze some of the water out of the potatoes before adding anything to them, them add the rest. After you place the potatoe pancake in the frying pan gently press it down with a fork like a hamburger pattie to cook through. Hope this helps, it's a great recipe and don't be afraid to add cheese, bacon bits, etc. It's definately great just as it is. Thanks again

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This meatloaf is great. I didn't have evaporated milk so I used 1/4c to 1/2c of mushroom soup. I also had to replace the cereal with bread crumbs. I added another can of soup to the part can leftover mushroom soup and used it as a gravy when it was served. It was a big success. 2nd time making it I added a package of Liptons garlic onion soup mix and it was fantastic,I will never have plain old anymore. Thanks

Slumgullion

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
When I saw that people actually made this I laughed, before we were married, my husband used to make this for his four little kids when he was on his own and broke. Instead of the corn he made it with brown beans and everyone loved it, there was never a lick left in the pot. My husband makes it for me now and I love it as well. I used to laugh at the name, but it sure fit. Thanks for making something so simple shine.

Crispy Oven-Roasted Rosemary Chicken with Sausage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This is a fabulous meal. I use Italian sausage and add red peppers, onion and mushrooms. The red peppers don't give me heart burn. I cook the sausage and chicken in a bit of canola oil and garlic. I don't use any wine because I never have it on hand. My family loves this recipe and it's one of our keepers. Thanks

Dutch Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
This Dutch Apple Pie is great. I did add a touch of cinnamon to my crumb topping. My daughter begged me to make it with a pie crust bottom and it turned out to be delicious. I'll use this filling for my apple crisp and my pies. Thanks Brenda
