General Tsao's Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
Very easy, 5 stars from the most sceptical of my eaters. I followed some reviewers suggestions for ease. I would use more peanutbutter and I like it hotter. Definitely double the sauce. Thank you for sharing

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Average meal. I would have thought with so many spices it would have knocked my socks off. I followed it to a t with the exception of cutting the cayenne in half. too bad for me it was just ok

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
This was okay in flavor. Definitely do not use onions. They are over powering. Use a sharp cheese for more flavor and add more cheese.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
This loaf was not so good. I followed it to a T(almost)-- I did take reviewers suggestions and doubled it and put it into 3 loaf pans. It came out with way too much orange flavor and very dry. To me it isnt worth another try. Sorry

Pumpkin Roll II

Good and easy. I left out 1/2 the sugar for the filling and it was just right. My daughter really liked it and it was pretty.

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
These cookies look great. They are easy and fun. One draw back is the flavor, very blah. I followed the recipe and think it could use a bit more sugar and flavoring. For the finger nails I used SLICED ALMONDS. For the red tips,(before baking) I used red food coloring and a toothpick, then I turned to a Q-tip. Very festive, but I only used the red on some, the thought of it was too gruesome. Thank you for the idea.

My first attempt at Chix Tort Soup. I used smoked BBQ chix leftovers and doubled the broth and spices. Yum It was great! I didn't think I would be able to make it so delicious. Five Stars for quick easy and a keeper.

Red and Green Christmas Jalapeno Jelly

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
This jelly had a nice flavor. A little tangy and sweet. I added extra cerrano and manzano chili for some spice and to my dismay it was very mild. No kick at all, not what I was looking for. On a plus side, it was very pretty and tasty poured over cream cheese served with crackers.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
My family is definitely NOT vege eaters! My daughter saw brussel sprouts at farmers market and asked if we could try them. I had never eaten them and never wanted to. My husband thought they were horrible. I bought them becaused she asked and browsed for a recipe. AMAZINGLY they were good! I added garlic as some suggested. Next time I will use a tad less salt and let them get a bit more black. I think the secret is to let them get black. I have found a new vegetable for my family. THANK YOU.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I was very unsure about pouring the sauce over the crust but, no worries! My husband said this was the best apple pie he has ever had. That was a huge compliment. Try it for yourself. Yummy. Next time I will not try to lattice it. When I cut it to serve, it was just a delicious mess.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
Very easy and yummy. It is now one of my kids top ten. I forgot the cheese and it was still good but I think it would be much better had I remembered. I put herb stuffing mix in my blender to make the bread crumbs. A definite. Thanks. I served it with grilled onion, garlic, bell peppers and steamed broccoli.

Empanadas

Reviewed: May 15, 2007
These were great. I was going to make them for a cinco de mayo BBQ but my family got to them first. I wouldn't suggest them for a large crowd. They are easy but too much time involved. I will keep this recipe YUMMY. Thank you

Easy Cheesy Chicken I

Reviewed: May 15, 2007
This was easy, yes. As for flavor, it was lacking. It definitely needs more to it. Maybe some green ortega chilies. I think it is a good base to start with.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
I tripled this recipe with 12 seven and eight year old girl scouts. I had many comments from "yuck", and "I don't like onions", to "what is that green stuff" when we chopped the bell pepper. To their amazment, they loved it. It was easy and the girls ate it all up. Two even asked for the recipe so they could make it at home. Thanks

Delicious! I used 5# pork, added 1/2 c. water and doubled the salt and liquid smoke. It was too bland without it. The cook time on low was 17 hours. Oh so Ono!! It brok da mouth. Served it with sticky rice--of course and fried cabbage. Thanks
