I'm a foodie! Is this where we meet for the 12-Step Program?
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not! I attempt to never prepare "the expected" for a holiday meal. Thanksgiving is much more likely to be lasagna or chicken enchiladas or french dip than turkey.
My cooking triumphs
Pie crust. My mom could make anything...as long as it didn't involve a rolling pin. Consequently, I had very little experience with pie crust or rolled cookies. Early in my marriage, I decided I was going to learn to make pie. For a couple weeks, I made a pie in the morning, which pleased my husband when he came home for lunch. Then I made another pie in the afternoon. Probably the happiest two weeks of my husband's life.
My cooking tragedies
I once mistakenly read "tablespoon" rather than "teaspoon." Unfortunately, when you triple the salt in most recipes, the end result is a disaster.
