I have four wonderful kids under the age of seven and we homeschool, so I am a busy momma! Anything fast that has meat and vegetables in it. For the last 20 years my family (starting with my grandmother's Christmas celebration) has been having an annual Christmas Cookie Contest. Each family member, including the guys and the kids, make a cookie from scratch. Store bought cookies are strictly prohibited. I have won the last four years, the most for anyone in my family. I think a winning cookie is one that combines the fat and the water (i.e. creaming the eggs into the butter/sugar) for at least 8 minutes of mixing. This kind of cookie comes out chewy and soft. Each person starts looking for their cookie recipe in mid summer, and we have fun talking trash all year about how each of our cookies is sure to win the coming contest.
