Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
Really like this recipe. Made it as recipe says but have also made this several times there after and have done different variations. I have cut the chicken into strips and added green, red, and yellow peppers and onions in the last 10 minutes of baking then put in soft shells with sour cream. Many options to do with this recipe.

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
My son and I made these, Very quick, easy, and oh so good. I followed the recipe exactly as written (was a little worried about the amount of sugar). I used Hersey cocoa powder, country crock light and peter pan creamy peanut butter. Creamy, smooth and just the right amount of chocolate to peanut butter taste. When you bring to a boil becareful not to boil over a high heat to avoid scorching your chocolate. I would recommend these to make with kids,to share, or just because.

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
Really enjoyed this recipe. Made it exactly as stated in recipe. The pork was moist and my family really enjoyed the soup part as it tasted like gravy.. I made this again tonight and did make a few changes due to what I had on hand this time I used butterfly pork chops and only had cream of chicken soup on hand and I preferred to have chicken over the mushroom soup (personal taste) this time around I also added salt and pepper for taste before putting the soup mixture on the pork chops. This is a great recipe and will continue to make this for my family. Its a keeper.

Eclairs II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
These are very good. I was looking for something for kids and guest that was different and you wouldn't normally see at a party. I made these with a little twist. I put the crust in a mini muffin tin staring the corners. After baked and cooled I filled with a layer of cream, added whip cream then drizzled with chocolate. It was such a sucess. I don't like to rate recipes without trying them as directed. However I made as recipe called I just made them with a twist and added whipped cream. Very good

Light Oat Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
I enjoyed this bread but this wasn't liked by all. This is the reason for the 3 stars. It might be a matter of taste so don't let this stop you from trying.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Game day wings. I give this only 4 stars because of sweetness but don't let that discourage you from trying. I will make these again but will cut back on the sweetness. Didn't have any complaints in fact they were gone with in 10 minutes.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Very good bread and easy recipe! I didn't change a thing (sort of). The only thing I did different that really didn't effect the recipe was I mixed 1/3 cup sugar and 2 tsp of cinnamon (not the ones listed in the recipe, you still need what the recipe calls for). Then sprayed my loaf pan and dusted the bottom and sides with the mixture. It made a crust on the bottom and sides, which left it so yummy. This recipe leaves your taste buds confused on if it is a bread or a cake. I am looking forward to making this again and hoping to put in the vanilla extract, walnuts and possibly a strudel on top.

Bacon Water Chestnut Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I made all the appetizers for our Thanksgiving feast this year (6 different appetizers) and these were hovered over until gone (took about 15 mins for them to polish off approx 30 wraps). All who hovered asked for the recipe and was telling those who weren't hovering how good they were. I did fry my bacon for about 3 mins on each side then set on paper towel lined plate and began to wrap immediatly. Just a note, I did notice some don't fry the bacon prior to wrapping so here is some tips to help decide if you want to cook your bacon prior or not. Bacon is just a great meat and it depends on how you like your textures. For a chewier bacon don't fry just wrap. For a light crisp with some chewy bacon, cook for approx 2-3 mins each side, just enough for the edges to crisp up then wrap. 4-5 mins each side for a crispy. Bacon continues to cook after it is pulled off the heat. The longer it cooks and the longer it sits after cooking the crispier the bacon will become. If it gets to crispy it will crumble when bent around chestnut or blacken as it cooks in oven. If you have a problem with the toothpicks browning, soak the toothpicks in water for about 5 mins prior to using but keep in mind this will make the toothpick more limp. Hope some of these tips help.

Cheese Cake Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
I have made these twice now. The 1st time I made as the recipe to stated. Didn't add a thing and they turned out great. I made them the second time tonight taking others advice adding 3/4 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2/3 cup sugar as well as dropped the syrup from cherry pie filling randomly in the cream cheese mixture and cut with a butter knife to create swirls. Then made the rest above recipe. I have to say both were good but will make them second way from here on out.

Excellent recipe.. Made it as the recipe called..I was making ribs and only had 30 minutes to go when company stopped by, so I needed a filler dish so we had enough food for the company... These were quick easy and done when the ribs were done.. I even had to print the recipe off for the company.. Thank you for sharing this..

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
Very good cake. It does come out as a dense cake so please keep that in mind. If you are looking for store bought tasting cake then you might want to just pick up a box of Betty Crocker instead. I have used yellow and pinapple upside down cake.. I do suggest using cake flour over all purpose but all purpose can be used..

These were very good but I changed the recipe not because I ment to but because company dropped in while making and I stopped cooking after frying them up so they turned out the be great chicken tenders.. I usually don't review if I change the recipe but thought if someone out there runs out of time as I did then want to let them know they will still be great..Its a great breading..
