Just got married in November of 2006, and slowly becoming a "domestic goddess"... trial and error. I'm a Christian and very involved with my church, and love to cook for others!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making vegetarian meals and extra chocolatey desserts. When my husband loves it, I feel my mission was accomplished!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade bisuits from my grandmother. They're simple and southern, and when I make them I feel all the women in my family, generations back kneading that dough with me. Grandmother's biscuits give me a real family pride!
My cooking triumphs
Learning to time everything... sides and main course and salad... it takes planning! I'm slowly getting how to do it...
My cooking tragedies
The infamous "catfood night" as my husband calls it. The recipe sounded ok, but it turns out oatmeal, cottage cheese, thyme, and cream of mushroom soup don't come together all that well. Especially when cold.

Rice Lasagna
Gluten free, and you don't really miss the noodles! My hubby requested pepperoni on one half of this lasagna, under the top cheese layer. I added 2 little onions to the ground beef just to sneak in more veggies. Very good, excellent for leftovers. It is pretty oozie after you take it from the oven... so I let it set for about 15 minutes. Will absolutely make again!

Apple Crisp II
Well, I altered it by leaving out the cup of sugar poured over the apples... and it was still amazing. SO good! Brought it camping and actually took home leftover because it was too good to just throw away with the other camping yuckies! Cut the sugar, though! Making it again for Thanksgiving... right now!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
Good! I added a sweetpepper for bulk. This recipe was reletively small, so next time I'll double it. This would be a good entre for 4 people.
