I made these into cupcakes. Because I couldn't layer the cherries and frosting, I combined them (chopping up the cherries), and filled the cupcakes by making a cavity with a small cookie cutter. I brushed the cupcakes with kirsch when the cupcakes were still hot. I topped the cupcakes with buttercream frosting, dark chocolate shavings, and a maraschino cherry!
