Grandma's Peach French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
I was so excited to try this recipe, and it was good. But WAY too sweet! I think I'll half the sugar in the recipe next time. I could even finish my serving because it was so sweet. Other than that I liked it.

Beef and Rice Medley

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2010
I think this is the first time I've made a recipe from this site and didn't read other reviews first. I just did my own thing with it. I didn't have green pepper, so I added frozen corn. It also seemed like it would be bland, so I added some chili powder. Not enough, it was still kind of bland. I served this in tortilla shells with cheese.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
My daughter is allergic to dairy and egg. So I substituted dairy free margarine for the butter, and used applesauce for the egg. I cut the recipe in thirds, which called for 1 2/3 cup oats. I used only 1 cup, and I think the consistency was perfect! They did take longer to bake, but it may have been b/c I did them on a stone. I may turn them up to 350 next time. But I thought these were perfectly delicious, and a healthier option for chocolate chip cookies.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
Delicious! I used this for a Pampered Chef party, my consultant was more than willing to try it. Everyone LOVED it! I did use pecans instead of almonds because I don't like almonds. The only other thing we did differently was we didn't add the parsley so that people could try different PC seasonings with it instead. I, personally, would use the PC Dill Mix with it instead of parsley. We served in on wraps with lettuce and tomato.

Chocolate and Fruit Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I did make some alterations, but it still came out really great! I didn't use raspberries because they're just too expensive. I used a brownie mix because I already had one in the cabinet. I just followed the instructions for cake-like brownies. I used white chocolate pudding because that's what I had and I thought it sounded delicious with the brownies and fruit...and it was! I used a whole 16 oz carton of heavy whipping cream and had plenty of cream mixture...unless you want to add some to the top, then I didn't have enough. I also cut the orange juice because we don't drink it, and I didn't want to buy some just for this. Overall, it was delicious, and I still had people ask for the recipe. I think the white chocolate over the french vanilla was a good choice!

One Dish Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
I've made this recipe as directed, and really like it. But I recently found out that my daughter has a dairy allergy. So I made a non-dairy cream of mushroom soup. I also had some leftover pork in the fridge, so used that instead of the chicken. It came out pretty good, but I'm going to have to get use to the taste of non-dairy soup :(.

Cheesy Tuna and Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
I'm not a huge fan of tuna, I did this recipe b/c it came up with ingredients that I had in my kitchen. It was pretty good. Not overly fishy. I think I drained of too much of the liquid from the noodles, but it was still good. I think it would also taste good with chicken...actually, in my opinion, better.

Quick Beef Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
This was pretty good. I didn't have ground beef, so I just cut that from the recipe. I put cheese on the crust before putting the soup on to help keep the crust from getting too soggy. Then I put more cheese on top...because you can never have too much cheese :). I plan to try other variations, such as the suggested onions and mushrooms. This was very good, though.

Easy Avgolemono Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
This was very good. I've never had the original, so I had nothing to compare it to. I think I added too much rice, because it wasn't very soupy. I didn't use the whole amount of lemon juice, and it still seemed very strong to me. The second time I made it, I added dill because I thought it needed something green. It added a nice bit of extra flavor. I think I may trying a touch of garlic or onion next time just for some extra kick.

Campbell's Baked Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
Delicious! I used green beans instead of broccoli, because I'm not too keen on broccoli. My chicken didn't quite bake all the way, we had to microwave it a little. But I'll just bake longer next time. May try with some cheese on top next time, too. I really liked how simple it was to put together.

Refrigerator Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
I made these for a friend who likes to just eat the cookie dough, since this recipe does not have eggs in it. I also used chocolate chips instead of cherries. The dough was delicious, and tasted just like the dough in cookie dough ice cream. However, once baked, the cookies were okay, but it tasted better as just dough.

Lemon Mousse Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
My friends and family really enjoy this dessert. The only thing I changed was that I whipped up extra whipping cream and placed it on top of the pie. It made it look nicer, and it also covered up my pie crust! It was my first time making a crust. It was edible, but not very presentable!

Basil Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
My husband and I loved this recipe. I left the chicken breast whole, and I used dried basil rather than fresh. I think it still tasted great!
