Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
This was absolutely fantastic, my whole family loved it. The only thing I did differently was that I added some chopped zucchini and parmesan cheese. It was an awesome, easy dish!

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
Holy cow, this is so wonderful!! I baked this today, and instead of using regular flour, I used whole wheat flour, and I also used Splenda for baking instead of straight sugar. Even with these changes, it was still fabulous! I also mixed a bit of brown sugar into the crumb topping and it was divine! Thanks for a great recipe :)

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
I had really high hopes for this pizza, and was seriously disappointed. I followed the advice of others, and baked the crust for about 15 minutes prior to putting the toppings on, and it still turned out gooey and not quite "crispy". The diced tomatoes make the crust sort of gummy and there is really no way to drain them enough to prevent this from happening. I guess if I were to make it again, I'd eliminate the diced tomatoes and just use a little sauce.

These were pretty good, I diced up the hotdogs and used turkey dogs for a bit less fat. The kids definitely loved them!

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
This was pretty good, I cut back on the fat a bit by using turkey hot dogs and low fat cheese, and also used homemade chili on it. The kids definitely loved it.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
This soup is so awesome! I added chopped carrots and celery, and mushrooms to it, and used light cream instead of heavy cream. It was still fabulous and will become one of our fall/winter dinner staples.

Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
We loved this, so easy and good. I did soak the chipped beef in water first, to get some of the saltiness out, and it worked perfectly. Great recipe!

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Sorry, wrong review. This bacon is fabulous and easy to make, it's nice to not have to stand over the stove and a greasy pan!

Baked Spaghetti I

This was ok, I wouldn't make it again, though...the cream of mushroom soup was just downright weird.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
I really didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. It took longer to bake than I thought, and the mushrooms and onions were not cooked as thoroughly as I'd have hoped. My family liked it, though.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
This was magnificent! The only issue we had was the cheese melting out of the chicken. If I could find a way to keep that from happening, this recipe would be perfect! :) Everyone loved the sauce, too.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
This is a pretty good base recipe, I made a few minor changes. Instead of poaching the chicken, I baked it with some garlic salt and poultry seasoning. I chopped it into bite sized pieces as the pasta cooked, and added some pepper and herbes de provence to the soup mixture. I only used 3 tablespoons of light butter to saute the cracker crumbs, and they came out wonderful. Thanks for a lovely recipe!

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
I made this for dinner last night, with a few minor changes. I used frozen veggies, a can of cream of chicken, and a can of cream of mushroom. I also added some garlic salt, a pinch of herbes de provence, and poultry seasoning. It gave it a great flavor, and my family loved it. I will definitely make it again!

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
This is the epitome of comfort foods! I made it tonight, cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces. I sauteed it in a little olive oil with the chopped green pepper and onions, and about two tablespoons of chopped garlic. I also seasoned the mixture with a bit of poultry seasoning and pepper. It turned out fabulous. Thanks!!

Cheddar Spirals

I've been making this for years, because I subscribe to the magazine it came out of, and we all love it. My friends and family request it, because they all love it. I make it with whole wheat pasta now, and light butter, to cut a bit of the fat/carbs out. It's awesome...great recipe!
