Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
I'm not sure if you can ever have too much chocolate :) I did think this recipe was fantastic, but then again, I love chocolate! It is rich and delicious just as any "too much chocolate" recipe should be!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
This was absolutely delicious and everyone who ate it, oohed and aahed over it. I did make a few changes for my own taste, I decreased the bananas slightly because I only had two. I made a topping of coarse sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkled it over the dough before baking! Mmm....

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
My husband and I loved it! It was succulent and tasted even better the next night when all the flavors blended even more together. Great recipe! I should add that I hate mushrooms, therefore I swtiched it to two cans of cream of celery and it was delicious!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
My husband and I both loved this! It was delicious! I have looked at this recipe for years before finally trying it, I don't know why I waited because it was wonderful. The only thing I really did different was add chicken broth instead of water. I used minced onions rather than fresh onions for a more subtle flavor! This is definitely a keeper!

Cake with Buttercream Decorating Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
I'm giving this 4 stars because everyone that ate it loved it. I, however, wasn't too crazy about it. It was just okay to me. I have other decorating frosting recipes that I like better.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This chocolate frosting recipe is absolutely fabulous. I made it for a cake to take to work for a co-worker's birthday and everyone loved it. It definitely makes A LOT though. I had to half the recipe and it was still almost too much for a three layer cake. The taste and consistency is perfect though! Thanks.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This pie is fabulous!! Everyone that ate it just thought it was to die for. My husband thought it was from a bakery! It is very light and fluffy, not heavy at all. When preparing it, I did cut down on the milk to about 2/3 of a cup and I rounded the cup of peanut butter instead of flattening it off, just to give it a little more peanut butter flavor. I took other people's advice and smeared Smucker's ice cream fudge topping across the crust before filling it with filling. Then, I crumbled up Reeses peanut butter cups and srpinkled them on top!! DELICIOUS. Thanks for the great recipe.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 20, 2008
I was expecting something fabulous after all the reviews... but my husband and daugther did not like this (I don't eat cheesecake)and they usually love cheesecake! Mabye there is a difference in traditional cheesecake and New York cheesecake, but my family thought this had a "wang" to it. Sorry.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
OH my goodness! This recipe is FANTASTIC!! I made it for dinner last night and my husband and I both loved it! It is very easy and I had most of the ingredients on hand, so it was very inexpensive with basic ingredients. I'm not a big celery fan, but I wanted the flavor in there... so what I did was take three celery stalks and just cut each celery stalk into two huge pieces, so that I had 6 large celery stalks stewing, but when the soup was done, I removed them! Also, I used minced onion instead of chopped onion just out of personal preference. Also, my husband wanted the soup just like it was, he loved it, but I wanted mine a little cheesy so I just added a handful of shredded cheddar cheese to the top of my bowl and stirred it in til it was mixed in really well. And then we ate til we were sick! It was SOOOOO good!! TIP: Some people complained that their soup wasn't thick enough, and my gut feeling is that they didn't cook the flour mixture long enough. Just because the 4-5 minute cooking suggestion is in there, don't go by that if it isn't thick enough... if it isn't thick enough after that time elapses, crank the heat up some and cook another minute or two, it won't hurt a thing as long as you stir constantly. It is no different than cooking white gravy - it is the exact same ingredients. You must try this recipe, you won't be sorry!

Sugar Coated Pecans

AWESOME! I started making these from this recipe a few years back, but I kept forgetting to review them... They are wonderful and very easy to make! When I make them, people tell me that they are better than the ones you buy at the gourmet deli. LOVE IT!

Wedding Cake Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
This turned out great! I love the flavor that the almond extract gives it. The one thing I can't seem to get rid of in my homemade frostings are the "crunchiness" that the sugar gives it. Somehow, I can't seem to get my sugar to ever blend in perfectly for that "smooth" taste. If anyone has any secrets for that smooth texture, please share!

Never-Ever-Fail Meringue

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
The first time I made this, it turned out perfectly. The second time however, I thought it was going to be OK til I refriguerated my pie and by the next morning, that "oily" stuff seeped out of it and ruined the rest of the pie. So, I will give it 4 stars because I still think it is a good recipe and I will keep using it, but I don't think it holds up well under refrigeration.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
I don't eat cobblers, but my hubby loves them so I made this for him and he loved it! The only thing I did differently was that I saved a few blueberries and dotted them on top before I cooked it. I'm giving it 5 STARS based on hubby's response!

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
My hubby flipped over this recipe! This was my first blackberry cobbler and it turned out just perfectly. I halved my recipe -AND- I don't use self rising flour so, I just used the all-purpose flour with salt & baking powder added to the recipe. Also, I added a pinch of cinnamon to the flour mixture. Hubby said it was the best cobbler he had ever eaten! 5 STARS!! Thanks for sharing!

Pistachio Fluff Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2005
This fruit salad is awesome! I am usually not particularly fond of fruit salads, but I was very intrigued by all the rave reviews. So, I tried it and it is irresistible! My husband also loved it. In preparation, I used 8 oz. of Cool Whip instead of 12 oz., it just looked and tasted perfect with the 8 oz., so I went with it. Also, I was gonna wait and put the bananas in right before serving it so they wouldn't turn brown or mushy, but I forgot to add them and it still turned out perfect without them! I used 1 cup of colored marshmallows and 1 cup of white marshmallows - perfect! Definitely a 5 star recipe! You won't be sorry you tried this recipe....
