Authentic Cincinnati Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Excellent! Only let it sit in the fridge a few hours; it was difficult to skim the fat but worked fine. Made with cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate. Tasted even better the next day.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Tastes delicious. Took another reviewer's advice to add half the glaze with the apples and the rest over the crust. Worth the time to make the lattice crust - got rave reviews from friends for taste and appearance!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I was highly skeptical - it seems like such an unusual combination of ingredients. I made them with black beans instead of kidney beans, and they were quite tasty! I enjoyed the sweetness of the potato contrasted with the spices.

Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
It could have used a little more chocolate in my opinion, but my husband loved it when I made it for our anniversary. Unfortunately the layer of caramel and pecans made cutting difficult.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This was my first experiment with using a bread machine without a packaged mix, and it was excellent! I did take several other reviewers' suggestions into account, and it was so easy and turned out delicious.

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
Very tasty! The marinated artichoke hearts are key. We had lots of leftover spaghetti so I threw that in and it worked great.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Fantastic! Works well with neufchatel also. Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces for easier serving and faster cooking. Double the sauce, and add frozen broccoli.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Excellent! Everyone on exec liked it. Definitely spicy; didn't add green chilies and it still had real kick. Only used 12oz of fake meat, but couldn't tell it wasn't real. Had leftovers!

Pasta with Peas and Sausage

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Hubby thought it was a good starter; I thought it was really tasty. Didn't have any cream so made it with 1c 2% milk and 1/2c half and half, thickened with a little cornstarch, and it was perfectly creamy. Also added some grated Romano cheese to the sauce, which was added a nice flavor.

Mexican Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
Definitely a keeper. Per other reviews, I used two boxes of corn muffin mix and diced tomatoes with chilis, and also added some kidney beans. Next time I think I will also throw in some salsa for a little more kick, but overall it was easy and delicious.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This was my first cheesecake, and following others' tips it turned out wonderfully. I used two blocks of neufchatel cheese and one block of cream cheese and fat-free half-and-half, and it was still plenty rich and delicious. Also, the oreo crust is a great compliment.

Salmon with Tomatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
Delicious! I've made it twice now (without the garlic oil, just don't have it), I love it, my not-a-fan-of-dill husband really enjoys it, and even my picky two-year-old will eat some of it. Definitely a keeper.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I took these to our church picnic yesterday. I hadn't even tasted them yet, so imagine my surprise when they won the best overall dessert prize! Following other suggestions, I doubled the recipe and baked for 33 minutes in a 9x13. I used closer to 2c apples, about 2/3c of each sugar, and the original amount of cinnamon sugar topping. Husband's not even an apple fan and asked me to make these again soon!
