Chocolate Covered Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
What a simple yummy recipe! My family all knows that my go-to candy of choice is the York Peppermint Patty so I had to try this out. I agree with others in that you need to freeze your dough for about an hour before you dip in the chocolate. I also ran out of chocolate so I ended up melting a bag of chocolate chips to dip the remainder in. Thanks for sharing Wendy!

Chiles Rellenos Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
This was a wonderful simple recipe. I was looking for recipes to use up my chile peppers from the garden and this helped. You could also use the canned roasted diced green chiles you find in the store if you don't want to mess with charring the poblanos.

Homemade Refrigerator Pickles

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I was looking for something simple to make pickles for the first time. I loved this recipe. The first time, I followed the recipe exactly. The second time I added a tablespoon of red pepper flakes, some celery seed, and mustard seed and then I decided to can it so I water bathed it for 10 minutes. I double checked with my canning book because I wasn't sure on how long...I found two similar recipes with cukes, onion, and pepper and one processed for 10 minutes and the other for 15 minutes. I will be making these again this week! Thank you Redlass!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Love this recipe! I've made it a couple of times. The first time, I made it with whole milk (I warmed it in the microwave) instead of the evap milk and it turned out great! The second time, I made it with the evap milk and it tasted just as good. I used my stand mixer hook instead of kneading it myself for about 8 or 9 minutes. I'm a novice at making bread, in fact, this is the first time, my bread actually rose well. This is a keeper for my family!
