October GangUp Challenge ~ Ingredient List!

Here we go folks!
 
Our theme for this edition of the GangUp is...
 
"Breakfast for Dinner"!
 
and the ingredients chosen are:
 
Fresh Ginger, Apples, Onions, Eggs, Flour, Mushrooms, Sage, Garlic, Bacon, Cheese
 
So let's review the rules....
 
 
Out of the 10 ingredients settled on, you MUST use at least 8 of them in the creation of your dish.  You are allowed to make 2 substitutions, you can ADD one and DELETE one, ADD 2, or DELETE 2.  You also have the use of the following 3 staples: Water, Salt & Pepper in addition to your ingredients chosen.
 
Once you have created your culinary masterpiece, enter it as a personal recipe in AR and then email me the link (with photo) to: gitana1962@live.com
 
All entries are to be received by 9:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, October 30th to be included in the follow up blog showcasing all your creations!

looks like I missed a fun cocktail hour-great list, Gitano. Lisa just make the dish and photo it then sneak in bread while you are eating it, no one will be the wiser. Enjoy your weekend at the cottage, we are going to a ski doo show today. No snow yet, but RNGrampa has an itchy throttle finger and wants to look at a new ski doo....ugh

Hi, for the ginger doubters. here's an idea. Doesn't fit with our rules but shows what can be achieved. cheers. Apples 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 2 teaspoons minced ginger 1 teaspoon minced garlic 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1/4 cup white wine 1 cup sliced (1/4-inch) yellow onions 2 cups cored and sliced (1/4-inch) Granny Smith apples 1/2 cup raisins A few sage leaves - chopped 2 tablespoons butter Directions In a plastic bag, add the apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, ginger, garlic, sage, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Shake and mix well. Sauté for a few mins. In the same saute pan deglaze with wine then add onions, apples and raisins and cook until apples are soft and onions are translucent. Add butter salt and pepper, to taste, and keep warm. A sauce.

Don, the challenge is for everyone to makeup their own recipe, they can't use yours. You add it as a personal recipe and then gitano posts it on the final blog.

Glad to see so many on board! and as of this morning, I already have recieved 2 submissions!! :) due to a hectic 2nd half of this week, I am doing mine today to get it out of the way. I am looking forward to seeing some great new dishes!

Went to the Commissary yesterday to cook this one tonight, and NERTS! No apples in the fridge. Who forgets to buy apples? they're only like the first item in the store. :(

Oh, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with...these are great ingredients to work with! I'll have to skip this round, wish I could participate but seems I'm burning the candle at both ends these days! Next time!

My cooking tragedies
When I first got married many years ago, we got our first microwave and I attempted to cook carrots in a corningware dish with a glass lid...anyway, I inadertantly set the timer for 25 minutes and went out in the backyard, next thing I knew the glass lid of the corningware was a molten mass and the carrots had turned into little charcoal briquettes! My husband has never let me hear the end of that one! :)
