Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2007
This was excellent, if there were more stars I would give it more. I made the sauce according to recipe, but I baked the dish in the oven for 30min. Next time I will use less lemon juice.... personal preference. Other than that I would change a thing. I used Chalula hot sauce giving it a medium heat. My wife is not a big fan of a lot of spice and this was perfect for her.

Maria's Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2007
I thought this was excellent. I made this according to the recipe, but with only three chicken breasts. I obviously had a lot of extra stuffing left over. Next time we'll try stuffed shells in addition to use all of the cheese stuffing. The chicken breasts used were pretty thick and it took about 90 min to cook thoroughly. I will make this again.

Pork Chops with Apples, Sweet Potatoes, and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2007
I made this according to the recipe, except I added a little cinnamon per previous reviewer. The pork chops were good and very tender. The sweet potatoes were OK. The apples cooked to mush. Overall it was just weird to me. I like all the ingredients but they did not work together. My husband was not a fan either. I will not make this one again.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2007
Wow! This is better than any restaraunt I've been to! I did make a few changes per previous reviews .... I used 2 cups mozz. cheese, 1/2 cup fresh parm. cheese, and the whole package of cream cheese. Cheese, cheese and more cheese!!! Don't hesitate to make the full recipe, trust me it will get eaten. There were 6 of us and not a drop left. Yummy! This is my new favorite thing to take to parties. Thanks soooo much for sharing!

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
This was excellent. I followed others advice and dredged the chicken in taco seasoning. I also added garlic and onion when cooking the chicken. I served it with shredded cheese and sour cream, rolled in a tortilla like a burrito. My husband loved it and has already asked me to make it again ... it has only been a week. It was pretty easy to make and healthy too. YUMMO!!!

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
This was the best new recipe I have tried in a long time. If you own a can opener you can make this dish. I read the other reviews and took what sounded good from those. I used 28 oz of tomatoes, 2 cans black beans, 1 can pinto beans with jalapenos, and 1 can of corn. I also added 1 tbl cumin and 1 tsp red pepper flakes. This mixture and amount of spice was perfect for us. My husband and I both LOVED this dish. He ranted for days about how good it was. I served it with sweet cornbread, and topped it with a little shredded cheese and sour cream .... YUMMMO!!

Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I made this for the first time tonight. This is a great base recipe! I read over the reviews and changed quite a bit. First I decreased the recipe to 4 servings. I added 1/2 tbl Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp dry ground mustard, 1/4 tsp ground red pepper, minced garlic and onion, 2 tbl bbq sauce. I used 3/4 c of light beer and we really couldn't taste the beer, but I think it really added to the overall taste of the sauce. My husband LOVED it. We will definitely have this again and often. It was perfect served over steamed white rice with steamed cabbage. YUMMMO!

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2007
I tried this recipe tonight. It is a nice light pasta dish. Next time I will definitely tweek it a bit. I used the oil from the tomatoes and added red pepper flakes per other reviewers ... otherwise I followed the recipe to a tee. I thought the tomato flavor was too strong/tart. Next time I will use less tomatoes and add either spinach or arugula. The red pepper flakes are a good addition. This is a good recipe but needs some changes to be great for me. I will certainly try it again. Thanks for sharing.

Ground Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2007
WOW! My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe. I used chicken bouillon instead of beef and added onion, mushrooms, and canned corn. Also added 2 tbl curry and some minced garlic. I didn't have any barley, but I will try it next time. Great hearty soup. This recipe was great left over and it freezes well too. This recipe will become a regular in our home, especially when it is cold out. Thanks for sharing.
