Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
Great pancakes, and very easy to make. Only 4 stars, b/c did add a bit more sugar to them. I think they would be missing something without it, but still a great recipe!

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
WOW!! This is a truly awesome French onion soup recipe! My husband and I just spent some time in Paris and we both agreed that this was better than ANYTHING we had there. The only thing I did differently was to use bullion cubes (one beef and one chicken) in water in place of broth b/c premade broth is hard to find where I live. I did grate some Parmesan inside the soup mix before adding the cheese on top. Excellent!!

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Believe the hype! I love pecan pie and made this for Thanksgiving this year. It was a hit with everyone! The only thing I changed was to use 1/2 dark and 1/2 light corn syrup. Fantastic!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
This is amazing bread! I followed the recipe exactly, except that I put extra honey in it. It's amazing that any of it stays around long enough to get eaten with meals or as sandwiches, considering how great it is right out of the oven! This has become a real family favorite. Thanks for sharing!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This is a fab recipe! My husband is Egyptian and a bit of a hummus snob ;). We also live in the Middle East, so we get good hummus all the time around here. We both loved this! I did make a few changes. I used a bit more than 1/3 cup of tihana, and squeezed the juice of a whole lemon into the mix. I also chopped garlic, sauted it and then browned ground beef with it and added it to the hummus. We munched on this with toasted arabic flat bread (pita works just as well), and it was a real hit!

Pineapple Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
This was a hit at our place! I didn't have onion soup mix on hand, so I just used a tablespoon or so of onion gravy granules. I mixed the sauce in a separate bowl and let it simmer to thicken before I added it to my chicken. Then I poured it over and let it cook just a bit to mix the flavors. I also added a clove of chopped garlic. Will definitely make this again. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
This was great. I did make the following modifications: I fried up a few slices of turkey bacon, and in that pan, grilled the chicken and sauteed the mushrooms. I also used milk rather than half and half and used about 1/2 the amount of cheeses. This time I used canned spinach but will probably use fresh and sautee it next time. The whole family LOVE this one! Thanks for sharing!

Crab Rangoon I

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
I used more crab than the recipie called for. My only issue is that it's sort of hard to get enough done for everyone to eat them hot and at the same time. I did leave out the ginger root, simply because I dont' care for the taste, but this was a great recipie. Thanks!

Easy to make, but a little bland. Next time I'll add garlic, maybe some lemon juice and chicken broth. Not bad, though.

Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
I didn't like this at all. That said, though, I think our tuna was probably not very high quality. The marinade was wonderful and I'll probably try it with chicken. Don't let my low rating deter you from making this! Just buy good fish. :)

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
I'd never made fish before, but my man loves salmon, so I thought I'd try. I should say that I do NOT like salmon. Anyway, I made this with dill b/c I didn't have any cilantro, and it was wonderful. Even I liked it and that's saying something. This recipie is super easy to make. I did mix the lemon juice, tomatoes, dill, garlic and all that together and let it set for about an hour or so, so that the flavors could blend together. I'll definitely be making this again!
