Life is about choices. A full life requires more than just great intuition, especially now that food allergies have become rampant. I for one am not willing to lie down and succumb to the "I can't eat that because I'm allergic to it" line. Nor will I allow
my children say that. It's all…
My husband is the real chef in the family, but alas I need to make dinner appear every night if I want him to work. I'm good for cookies and an occasional cake, but I need help in the dinner department. Lots of help.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies. That said, on a day to day basis I like to balance our family's diet with fresh vegies, lean meats...the usual stock to meet daily nutrition requirements. We have to eat healthy to balance out all the cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mexican. We specialize in Mexican with a Texas/California family. My main stay is pasta; my challenge is getting kids to eat the sauce and veggies required to count as a full dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Excellent broccoli/cauliflower salad, but my friends are getting bored with this at every pot luck.
My cooking tragedies
I always, always burn the bacon. It's very sad, especially when it's the expensive, organic stuff.
