I have been a vegetarian for over ten years, but I do prepare a little seafood. Being raised in a family of Hispanic and Italians eating is our way to communicate love.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking beans, soups, and usually incorporate Indian or Creole spices. I try to keep my salt use to a minimum because everyone enjoys a different level of saltiness, and it is an easily remedied problem without shocking the tastebuds of people not crazy about salt.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking with my grandma, especially during Christmas time will always be remembered. Making homemade Mexican feasts is also a favorite.

Most days are a triumph, but once in a while something comes our a little strange.
My cooking tragedies
In fourth grade we had to make these muffins with jelly. I asked my dad if baking soda and baking powder were the same thing. He said yes, but the only thing I have ever seen him prepare is Rice a Roni and grilling. Well obviously, the baking soda made things a little off.
