Chicken Tinola

This recipe was fantastic! The grocery was out of fish sauce, so we made do with oyster sauce instead. Lots of flavor, healthy, and quick to put together.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Awesome! I used eggroll wrappers and baked at 425 and they were done in less than 15 minutes, but that was too hot for them to get brown up evenly. Next time, I'll probably go down to 400 and start with a foil cover for the first few minutes. Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce was perfect for dipping.

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Fantastic!! I added a little more liquid smoke and Worcestershire, and the heat level from two habaneros was just right for me. I served it with a dollop of Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce, which was awesome for offsetting the fire.

Southwestern Vegetarian Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
I'm a big fan of this recipe - with a few tweaks. I skip the pasta and serve it over a little rice instead. Several people have commented that it's bland, but a small handful of fresh cilantro on top adds some great flavor, and don't be shy with the chili powder and cumin!

Bratwurst and Shrimp Boil

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
I made a variation of this tonight - absolutely terrific. Instead of brats, I used Boca "Italian Sausage" to keep it healthier and less meat-heavy. I cooked it in the microwave, added it with the shrimp at the end, and it came out perfect. Also went with 3 bottles of beer instead of 2 and reduced the water accordingly.
