About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to bake and make yummy desserts!! I'm constantly making something and giving it to friends or family. I love to hear their reactions and critiques. It makes me happy when they like what I've made.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my Mother, Aunt, Sister and a few close friends get together for two days of cookie baking. We usually make between 15 and 20 different kinds. We keep some for our families and give some away as gifts. I also love going strawberry picking in the summer and making jam. My girls love helping!!!(Eating the berries fresh from the field ;)
My cooking triumphs
Cooking my first cheesecake. I was very nervous, but now chocolate chip cheesecake is one of my specialties.
My cooking tragedies
I often get wrapped up in making too many things at once and I am famous for forgetting about the rolls or biscuits! My oldest daughter claps when I remember them and don't burn them!!

Applesauce Oat Cake
Loved the smell and flavor of the ingredients. I used homemade applesauce that I had made earlier in the week. Also used the cream cheese II recipe as suggested. I found the cake to be easy to make but was not as happy about how dense and heavy the cake was. Very thick n heavy, but again good flavor.

Slow Cooker Beef Barley Soup
Took into account the comments about being a little bland. Browned stew meat w/ diced yellow onion and thyme. Added to the crockpot 1 1/2 cans beef broth, 6 cups water and 4tbsp. of beef granules. Then added sliced carrots, can of corn and can of diced tomoatoes. Two hrs. before serving I added the barley. So yummy!! My husband loved it and my very fussy, no veggie eating teenager LOVED it also. Will definitely make again.
