Sweet and Tangy Slow Cooker Bar-B-Q Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
Great new way to prepare Pork Ribs. After reading other reviews, I browned the ribs in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes on each side to help reduce the fat content. This worked great as I had no fat anywhere left in the sauce at the end. I then replaced the ketchup with bbq sauce (don't like ketchup), reduced the water to 2 tablespoons. I didn't have any celery seed so elimated that along with the sliced onions and red bell pepper. I also rotated the ribs halfway through the cooking to make sure all were evening covered. My husband absolutely loved them (we had no leftovers!!) Thanks MITCH103 for a new and easy way to prepare bar-b-que pork ribs!!

Lemon Pepper Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
This recipe was a great starting point. I made the following changes: greatly reduced the Lemon Pepper - just lightly sprinkled less than a tablespoon. Used 1 tablespoon melted butter. Also sprinkled with a small amount of garlic powder (about 1 tsp.). Added grated parmesan cheese during the last 5 minutes of cooking. I can understand why others thought even one tablespoon of Lemon Pepper was too much - the citrus really comes through. Thanks for the idea, JJ!

Pretty Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
Nice blend of flavors. This will become a regular in our house. I did marinate the chicken for over 6 hours and did not find that the lemon started to cook the chicken. I use many marinades that take 24 hours and contain lemon and have never had any adverse effect on the meat. Thanks TaraNicole!

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
Fantanstic taste and easy. As suggested by another, subbed regular prepared mustard with Dijon mixed it with the honey. Also followed TALQ's suggestions of wrapping the chicken with the bacon, cooking for 40 minutes, then sprinkling with mozzarella cheese. This will become a regular in our household. Very moist and delicious! Thanks

This was great! I used lemon pepper instead of just regular pepper. Used this recipe on mahi mahi and hubby thought it was fantastic.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
Did a few things others suggested. Did not brown, just put all the makings (except the chicken) into a pot and brought it to a boil then poured it over the raw chicken in the slow cooker. Also replaced water with 1 cup chicken broth and added 1/4 cup white wine - doubled lemon juice, garlic, and chicken bouillon granules. Cut cooking time to 4 hours on low. Had plenty of liquid, the chicken was very tasty and moist. Will definitely make again!!

Summer Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Very good! I did add 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp basil, and 1 tsp italian seasoing. I also added 1/2 cup white wine at the same time as the tomatoes and let it warm just a couple of minutes. Will definitely make this again.

Smoky Mountain Chipotle Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
Great blend of flavors with just the right amount of bite. I didn't bother with the topping of bacon, red onion, or provolone cheese and it was scrumptous. I did use only 1 cup of ketchup and added 1 cup of Cattleman's Smoke House Barbeque Sauce. I think using 2 cups of ketchup would have made it too strong with tomato flavor. Thanks for the recipe, Janine!

Very good and very easy. Reheats well in the microwave and even tastes better the second time around. A great way to use up those summer squashes.

Moist and flavorful. I did use less lemon zest than called for and next time would add a little salt.

Baked Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
Excellent. Hubby said it was the best beef stew that he could remember ever having. Made the following changes suggested by others: 1) used a can of beef broth in place of water and beef bouillion granules. 2) used a few tbsp of cornstarch in a few tbsp of water instead of the tapioca. 3) omitted the sugar. 4) added onion soup mix in place of the onion. 5) omitted the slice of bread. 6) added 1/4 cup of red wine. 7) did not brown the meat before adding.

Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
Delicious! I wasn't too sure with the way heating the ingredients (not including the broccoli)smelled but the taste was wonderful. My husband really liked it too. I took the suggestion of another and microwaved the broccoli with all of the ingredients (already mixed) for about 5 minutes - stirring half way through. Easy and great!

Bryce's Best Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
The sauce lost a little of its punch while it was on the barbeque. Made a great dipping sauce with great taste and punch. We used it on boneless pork chops. Might try letting the chops sit in the marinade for a couple of hours next time before cooking.

Marinated Steak

I would like to have given this 4.5 stars. I really liked the flavor but my hubby thought it was a bit too sweet - thus the split between 4 and 5 stars. The meat was very tender and moist. Thanks Gordon!

No-Tomatoes-Required Italian Seasoned Stir Fry

Excellent! I omitted the mushrooms as they are not a favorite of mine. I added an orange bell pepper, and yellow squash as I had both on hand. This was very good and makes great leftovers!
