Cream of Chicken with Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
The soup turned out great, everyone loved it, I will make again. I did make some modifications. I used boneless skinless breasts. I sautéed the veggies, simmered the chicken once diced, then added water & chicken bouillon. I also added several seasonings (sage, rosemary, basil, bay leaf, garlic) to the broth. I don't measure exactly, but the thickener worked wonderfully giving it the time it needed.

WOW we loved it! It was fast & easy, I like recipes that don't have to be followed to a T. This is one of them, we will do again and again!

Grilled Salmon Kyoto

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
Excellent!! Followed recipe with to taste quantities. I added a little more ginger and others ingredients knowing who I was serving. We BBQ'ed them on a cedar plank which put this recipe over the top. I served it with Skewered Grilled Potatoes also found on All Recipes. Very nice dish.

Very tasty; I put more rosemary, but my family is a fan of it already so wasn't concerned.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2014
An easy and awesome meal. I was fortunate to have a nice smoked sausage from the meat market, but I'm sure a Johnsonville smoke sausage would be just as good. Everything else I used were basic ingredients, red potatoes and fresh beans from the garden; I don't measure but use judgement according to how my family prefers things. This was a hit and I do plan to use it again.

Molly's Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
Made the sauce as directed with a little less chicken & I used chicken tenders. It was EASY & delicious. I would make a great crock pot dinner its great coming home to the bulk of dinner cooked already!! Whip up & a yummy steamed veggie & the family will think you slaved all day. I would double sauce if I used more chicken or I suppose I could season the rice with something yummy too.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Tasty and easy! This is a keeper and will be used again at our house. We used pepperoncini peppers instead of jalapeño because that’s what we had, I’m sure both would be great.

Mini Blue Cheese Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
I've used this twice now, its a hit and will be used again. I've used it as an accompaniment to fall soups (squash, pumpkin), it's great for that. Eaten and raved about. Once I cut into the bits, that was nice but the second time I didn't have the time. The bread sticks were big so I cut them in half, twisted them that worked fine. with the bits I tossed them in with the melted butter and blue cheese rather than pouring over, the sticks I did pour over and basted to cover completely. Cooked as directed on bread container and to my desire. I also reduced the amount of butter used and saw no issue in doing that, I don't measure, but would say maybe 3 Tbls rather that 4, basically under a half a stick. Love them, try it if you like blue cheese!!

Wild Rice and Pepper Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
Awesome, easy and has a great light flavor with the lemon zest which I added a little more than called for. Simple and well worth the effort. Oh, we didn't have the long grain wild rice so we used white minute rice and wild rice in a nice combination.

Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
Excellent alternative to regular BBQ out of a bottle, much lighter and ours was juicy & moist. I did reduce the syrup to 1/4 cup as others recommended, that goes without saying for my family since we prefer savory with a kick of heat. I prepared just over 3lbs of chicken tenders and increased sauce by an additional half and used one full onion. My measurements were liberal in the season salts as we do like a little heat and it was a perfect subtle after heat flavor.

Cabbage and Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
Great start and I say that only because I made so many modifications because of what I had in the house. THANK YOU for the ideas. To begin I don't measure anything, I go by tastes we like and what how many I need to feed. For meat we use a spicey turkey kielbasa & pasta (we had left) we used stuffed pasta w/butternut squash (prepared as directed). We sauted red onion & 2 garlic cloves in bacon grease, tossed in cabbage (we could have used more) it always cooks down more than we expect, sauted until soft crunchy, put in pasta heated through. Ground pepper & Salt to taste and ENJOYED!!! The pasta gave a sweat offset to the spicey meat. What a nice alternative for kielbasa.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Very easy and tasty. It's the first time I've made Cream Cheese frosting from scratch and I loved it. I cut the recipe in half and it worked just fine. I didn't measure the vanilla exactly and that worked just fine.

Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Not bad and was easy. I don't think I used all the butter nor the bread crumbs called for. I didn't need the fat in the butter and didn't want to waste bread crumbs not used. I added seasoning to taste on my bread crumbs and added a small amount of corn meal as I'm trying to use it up. The corn meal added a nice texture. Chicken was moist and very flavorful. I'll make it again, I never rate things a full five star, same as I never make EXACTLY as stated. There is always room for someone to improvise or make improvements. Good recipe and worth trying adding your own twists.

Zesty Southern Pasta and Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
Everyone loved the salad. I had to double the recipe for my group. I was surprised not to see any onions in the recipe my group loves onions so I added. I did not have fresh tomatoes, so used can of chopped drained, this worked well. I did not have enough cummin to double nor did i double the chilli powder as per some reviews. Tasted while it chilled and it was just fine. Will ues this again, thank you.

Black Bean and Wild Rice Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
Wonderful alternative for a cold salad. I made adjustments due to what I had on hand. Used bottled OJ with pulp, apple cider vinegar & a tsp of tarragon leaf, 1/2 tsp of cumin because I like it. I had pecans rather than cashews and dried cherries rather than cranberries. All substitutions seemed to work fine, the dish earned good reviews and requests for the recipe. I will use it again.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
This was excellent as directed. I initially thought the sugar would not be needed but while tasting before serving it was necessary that with the red pepper flake was perfect. I did go over on red pepper a little, but that wasn't necessary. Great as written, we'll make again. thanks
