I am a semi-retired orchestral musician and conductor with a young family, for which I do most of the cooking, ranging from the mundane (is there such a thing in food?!) to the gourmet. The problem is that I also enjoy eating!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking most foods, but I especially enjoy sauces. My kids enjoy barbecues and luckily our weather lets us eat out through much of the year. I am definitely a carnivour, though I enjoy vegetarian food occasionally.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was an excellent cook, particularly with cakes and pastry, though I have definitely not inherited her knack for the latter! She cooked mainly British food, but it was always good and tasty.
My cooking triumphs
Fillet Beef Wellington and Steak Diane are perhaps the most requested dishes from our meal guests, though casseroles come close.
My cooking tragedies
Once I made Salmon en Croute for some friends, but it was accidentally dropped on the floor on the way from oven to serving dish! Luckily it was a clean floor!!!
