Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
I really didn't enjoy this bread. I wanted to make it as intended, with no changes. (The only change I made was to cook it about 30 mins longer.) I ended up with a semi-decent tasting bread...on top of a rubbery layer of banana mush that had sunk to the bottom! Way too many bananas! Also, it needs some sort of spices - nutmeg? Cinnamon? Something. I will stick to my all-time fav recipe for banana bread...

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
Amazing. These taste like some potatoes we eat at a favorite Portugese restaurant - but way cheaper and super easy! Be sure to stir them often though - we had a lot that stuck. I will definitely make this again!

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Loved this! And it was for once right on with the serving size! I added cooked carrots, but besides that followed the recipe to a T - and I'm glad I did! I will definitely make this again so I can play around with more ingredients!

Roasted Garlic Bean Dip

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
This was pretty good. But I made this to go with carrots - not so good! I think it would taste awesome on tacos though. Also, I used only half the garlic - it was more than plenty. My garlic LOVING husband said it was a bit too much. But I might make it again to use in place of refried beans.

Pork in Olive Oil Marinade

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
This was good, but not the best. It was a bit bland for my tastes. To make it a complete meal I added one each of a red, green and yellow bell pepper, and served it over macaroni pasta. I tripled the sauce, though doubling probably would have worked. I would maybe make this again, but only if I really had nothing else to make.

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
Wonderful! Everyone loved them and they looked so pretty! I did have a problem with burning and ended up cooking them at half the recommended temp., but they were very, very good! No one believed they were sugar-free either!

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
This was good, but not great. I like the "Savory Deviled Eggs" better from this site, but I might use this recipe again.

Cajun Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Good flavor - but WAY too salty. Everyone agreed on that. I also made "Savory Deviled Eggs" and "Deviled Eggs" from this site, and the savory eggs won everyone over!

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Not that good. It tasted better the next day, but straight from the oven I could not eat it. The next day it was only edible smothered in honey. I won't make this again.

Chili For Two

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Really very good and so simple! This was almost exactly the right ammount for me and my husband - I had just a little bit left-over for lunch the next day! I would make this again!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
This was good, just not the best. I like the thin and crispy crunch on top of my brownies, and this was more of a cake top. Tasted great though, and was real simple!

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
So good! I halved the recipe to feed four people for a raclette and we all got at least four! Used Nutella, jam, sugar and lemon, and brown sugar as toppings - and all were great! This is a keeper!

Creamy Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
I did not like this at all, but my husband loved it, so it gets a three. To me it was like eating steak covered with fat. He was dipping his pieces in the pan though, so maybe it just wasn't for me. Thanks though, and I will prolly make it again, but just for him.

Fantastic! I cut it in half (for me and my husand) with no problems and we had no leftovers! This is a keeper!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
I'll admit we tweaked a bit (I don't remember what all we did, just kept adding more of the ingredients until we liked it) but it ended up being delicious! We ate the whole bowl right there! Thanks for a great recipe!

Easy Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
I didn't care much for it, but my husband loved it, so it gets a four. I usually like Hummus, but tend to be partial to the mediteranean blend at my local supermarket. Thanks for the recipe though.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
Très bon! I made these for Belgian friends and family (all of whom HATE peanut butter!) and they went wild! They were a huge hit and are already all gone - I should have made a double batch! This is now my favorite peanut butter cookie!

Alfredo Sauce

It just wasn't that good for me. I changed the cheese, as recommended by the author, so maybe I just didn't like the cheese. I would prolly try it again though, with the right cheese.

Soda Cracker Chocolate Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Really good - just like Momma makes it! Be careful though - the first time I made it I overcooked the butter and suagr mixture. It tasted normal, but the texture was a bit off. Otherwise, no problems! Thanks!
