About this Cook
I work w/an international missions movement and love Asia. I also work with a lot of students from University of Wisconsin and help with an International Student house on the campus. I'm married and we have a baby boy - Samuel, born November 2007. I love to travel, cook, scuba dive, play cards & games, take pictures, design websites (like ours - and more.
My favorite things to cook
A delicious spinach fruit salad, Grandma's cheesy potatoes, apple crisp, swedish pancakes, broccoli barley saute, chicken enchiladas, egg-cheese sandwiches, monster cookies & more
My favorite family cooking traditions
Swedish pancakes, Grandma's cheesy potatoes, apple crisp & more.
My cooking triumphs
I managed a meal plan for 20-30 students for a year, and came up with all kinds of different recipes. I'd try something from for the first time and it'd turn out great - always adding my own variations. Also, a salad I made pleased 20 people from all kinds of different nations - it's now one of my favorites to make. Another triumph - we invited over some friends that were in professional food service for many years, including a gourmet bed & breakfast, and our menu impressed them!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a Thai soup once that turned out tasting like nothing but fish juice (I only added what it said!)

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
Quite possibly the best Alfredo sauce I have ever had. I used it in large quantity, "16 servings," to serve alongside spaghetti sauce & meatballs for a co-op of 20 people. It was by FAR the favorite sauce and the little bit that was left over even heated up quite well when heated on the stove with a little more milk added.

Waffle Iron Brownies
We used this recipe because we wanted waffles but had no milk. So, a mix between a waffle and a brownie couldn't be too bad! We made it, but it did not turn out as expected. It was dry, cake-like, and didn't taste good as either a brownie or a waffle. I don't recommend it...
