About this Cook
I always watched my parents cook as a child but didn't carry a lot of that knowledge with me into adulthood. In the past 7 years I have been atempting to learn "how to cook" and have been getting better through many trials and not too many tribulations.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I love stirfrys. I love vegetarian. I love making marinades and letting my husband, the grill master, do the grilling.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big, simple meals with lots and lots of people.
My cooking triumphs
My top cooking triumphs have been coming up with my own recipes. I always feel empowered when I come up with my own recipe and to have it turn out beautifully.
My cooking tragedies
Mostly injuring myself; burns, cuts, etc.

Red Currant Pie
This is amazing! I did as ANIMAP suggested and pressed the crust into the pan and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking. Also, I halved the recipe and baked in 2- 5 inch springform pans and it turned out great. I loved this so much, and I'm not big on fruit desserts and I despise meringue, so it had to be amazing to overcome those.

Super Food Chocolate Chip Cookies
A friend of mine made these and we had them at her house. They were so delicious I had to make them myself. I used all coconut sugar and pecans instead of walnuts. I must admit I am a cookie dough lover more than a cookie lover and this dough is amazing! The Chia seeds and cacao nibs give a little crunch that is soooo good! These are just as good baked, too. I love that we get a little more nutrition while getting our cookie fix :). I will definitely be making these again!

Oma's Rhubarb Cake
Super moist. More like a coffee cake than regular cake, but the best coffee cake I've ever had. Very easy to make too.
