Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This recipe makes THE BEST PUMPKIN PIE!! EVER! This is my first time making a pumpkin pie. I followed the directions exactly as stated (except I omitted the streusel topping) and it turned out to be the most delicious pumpkin pie i've ever tasted and it was easy to make! It came out looking gorgeous as if it came from one of the high-end bakeries. It wasn't too sweet, just perfectly sweetened and the pumpkin pie spice was just right. Texture was light and fluffy. This will be my first and only pumpkin pie recipe that I will ever use. Thank you Carol A.!!!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
These really are the best blueberry muffins I've ever made!!! I don't think there's anything else that needs to be said that hasn't already been said about this super recipe. I don't like my muffins too sweet so i would probably reduce the sugar to 1/2 cup. This will be the only muffin recipe that I use from now on.

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
THESE ARE THE BEST!! I've been searching for soooo long for a healthy delicous, semi-dense and moist bran muffin recipe and finally I have found it!! I followed the recipe to a T (except I made 6 jumbo muffins instead of 12) and they came out gorgeous! I used a crown top jumbo muffin pan and they looked like I just bought them from a gourment bakery downtown somewhere. The best part is that the jumbo muffins came out to be approx. 200 calories each! Yum! My search is over. A++

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Sooooooo good. I made some adjustments to make them a little healthier and they still came out super delicious and very moist. I used 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce + 1 tbs olive oil instead of butter. I only put 1/2 cup of sugar. 1/2 cup whole wheat flour in place of 1/2 white. Used an egg replacement for the egg and added an extra banana for more flavour. I made 10 large muffins at 155 calories each. I baked them for 20 minutes. Sooo yummy, I'm eating one right now.

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
This was the most disgusting chocolate icing I have ever tasted! I followed the recipe to a "T" and it was nasty. It looked good, but tasted like pure sugar with a hint of chocolate aftertaste. What a wast of time and ingredients. Luckily I had some store bought frosting in the cupboard or else I would have to gone all the way to the store to buy some because I had to dump this icing. Yuck!

Hummus III

Soooooooooooooo good. I put only 1/4 cup of the tahini and added some of the chickpea juice and about 1/2 tsp of olive oil. Yummy. I will never buy hummus from a store again!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
This cookie was yummy, but wasn't anything special. I followed the recipe exactly, but my cookies did not spread at all so it made them a bit too cakey for my liking. The taste was good, but texture and look was below average. I don't think I would ever make it again, especially when the the other recipe on this site (The best, big, fat, chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe) is so prefect.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
THE BEST!! I have made this 4 times now and every time I get tones of compliments. I follow the recipe exactly as is. It is quite easy to make, but it does get messy due to the multitude of ingredients and clean up is kinda a pain (you need a minimum of 3 mixing bowls!) but it is worth it every time. Deeeeeelish!!! It is moist and last for days when kept in the refrigerator. If you like carrot cake, you must try this recipe.

Smoked Oyster Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Delicious recipe!! I love the flavor of the smoked oysters! The first time I made this I only used 1/2 a package of cream cheese and found that I prefer a more of the oyster flavour so the second time I made it I only used about 1/2 cup cream cheese and 1/2 tsp worcestershire. It was yummy!! I have also used a cream cheese replacement (Tofutti better than cream cheese) and it was really even better!!

Gramma's Date Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Yummmy!!!!!! The only thing I did differently was to omit some of the brown sugar. I didn't add any sugar to the date mix, and only used 1/2 cup sugar in the flour mix. It came out delicious! Next time I just go by the advice of some of the other reviewers and use some applesauce to replace some of the butter, and maybe even omit the brown sugar altogether (or maybe just 1/4 cup or so) Very delicious. Will make again!! A+

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
WOW, these are the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I have ever tasted or made!!!! I didn't melt the butter as directed, it was just softened at room temp. I cooked it for the whole 17 min tho, because at 15 min. they still were not even a wee bit brown on the edges and looked totally undercooked so I left them in for 2 more min and they were perrrrfect!! This is the best recipe ever!! Wow, I am still so shocked that I actually made these cookies. A+++
