Easy Clotted Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
This was everything the recipe said it was. Easy, alternative to the real thing. Does anyone have a recipe for the real thing? I have made this for a tea party, for an event at work and today for Easter. I have had many compliments and request for the recipe. Thanks for the recipe.

Black Bean and Corn Salad I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
I have made this twice in the last month. Once for a luncheon at my home, all the guest loved it and once for a 4th of July picnic. Everyone there that tried it loved it to. The hostess asked for the recipe. I halved the recipe both times. It makes a lot of salad.

Old Man's Turkey Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
We loved this soup, but I did make some changes. I used my turkey drippings and leftover gravy along with chicken broth in place of the water. I was out of sage, so I used 1 tsp. of poultry seasoning in place of the individual seasonings. I didn't add any salt, because I didn't use water and with the addition of the fresh celery, I did see the need for the celery salt. I have also found that soups with pasta, when leftovers are stored, the pasta absorbs all of the broth. I add my noodles as I serve the soup. You can precook noodles and store them with a little melted butter to keep them from sticking to each other. We liked the soup better than the turkey dinner.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I served this at a luncheon and it was met with delight. I used chicken that I grilled with a marinate of cranberry sauce and chili sauce (use equal parts of each). Other than that I followed the recipe. Also, I didn't make sandwiches, I served it on shredded Romaine lettuce with Black Bean and Corn Salad II. I received so many compliments for the luncheon! Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
The salsa is perfect. The marinade for the fish has too much oil. To cook the fish I lightly oiled foil, placed the fish added the seasonings, sealed and grilled. Served with the salsa. My husband and I loved it. Thanks for sharing.

A great salad to use up my summer bounty of tomatoes and cucumbers. I used white onion, otherwise followed the recipe. The whole family enjoyed this salad with our baby back ribs. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Texas Beef Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I have been making this for a few years now. I can not believe that I never rated it. The only thing that I change is I use 1/2 of a bag of frozen veggies in place of the canned. I just don't like the taste of canned veggies. I get request for this soup all the time. I serve it with a fresh crusty bread. Thanks for this hearty recipe.

Cheese Ravioli with Three Pepper Topping

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
This was really good. I used fresh three cheese ravioli, 2 green, 1 whole red, 1 whole yellow peppers, and 1/2 large onion. I should have used the whole onion. Like someone else, I added a little crushed basil, and oregano. I will be making this again, it was a nice change to pasta with sauce.

Christmas Cookies in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I decided to make these before I gave the jar as gifts. The flavor is wonderful. The only thing that I did differently is, I softened the butter rather than melt it. Next year I will give the jars as gifts. P.S. The DH & DS went crazy for them. When the DH saw me with a cookie in my hand, he said, "Those cookies are mine."

Eggnog Gingerbread Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I made this for a family gathering this weekend. Everyone gobbled it up. The only thing I will change the next time I make this is to leave off the cranberry's. They don't do anything for this dish. I will be making this again.

Reuben Sandwich I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
I am not a fan of the Reuben, but I loved this recipe. I have made it several times and have not changed a thing. My husband and son, who are fans of the Reuben, also gave this 5 stars. Thanks for sharing a recipe that I was willing to make and eat.

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
This rating is for the meatballs only. I like to make the gravy that my family has made for years. I make a double batch of the meatballs, freeze them on a cookie tray, then bag. It lets me add just what I need to my pasta dinner. Thanks for the great meatball recipe.

Wow!!! This glaze is perfect. I followed the microwave directions from one of the other reviewers. I used this to glaze a Ribboned Fudge Cake (from this site). I made this for a birthday at work and everyone raved over it. I had several request for the recipe.

Ribboned Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
Perfection. If you like chocolate & cream cheese you will love this. I used a DH dark chocolate mix. To cut down on the fat I followed the low fat recipe on the box, used non fat cream cheese and non fat condensed milk. Then I added one cup of mini chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture. Topped with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze from this site. I made this for a birthday at work. Everyone loved it, and I had several request for the recipe. Some people had a hard time believing that it was home made and that it started with a box cake mix.

Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Great on sandwiches!!! I followed others advice and cut the sugar. I used 1 cup loosely measured, to 3 lbs of kielbasa, 1 1/2 cups ketchup, 1 can unsweetened pineapple tidbits. I cut the kielbasa lengthwise in half and to size for the rolls I had. Put in all in the crock pot with 2 green and 1 yellow peppers on top. Heated for 3 hours and served at a picnic. I was shocked to see when I went back for seconds that the crock was wiped cleaned. Everyone enjoyed them. The meatballs that usually go were left. This made fantastic sandwiches, and I will be making this recipe again. Thanks for sharing.
