Had to rate in the middle on this one. As a cake I did not care for it at all. Baking time is way off and after almost two hours I pulled it from the oven. The middle was still a bit gooey and the outside was hard enough it made cutting difficult. As many said it is brownie like so next baking I made it as brownies and one word...AWESOME!

Slightly Spicy Chocolate Chip Cookies

The first time I made these it was exactly as written, good but not great. The next time I used 1/4 tsp; of each spice, better but still not great. Finally I added a heaping 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper and these cookies are worthy of hall of fame status. Everybody loved them and begged for the recipe. They were amazed at the secret ingredient.

Maple Muffins

As the recipe is written they are not all that great. When I made them with Grade B (darker syrup meant for baking) they were okay but still not all that much maple flavour. When I added a maple glaze and served with maple butter they were over the top awesome!

Wrapped Salmon

I figured this was worth a try with all the positive reviews. For me it was disappointing. While the presentation was nice it lacked flavour. The recipe could probably be tinkered with and be okay but not for this cook. It was not a good use of my salmon 8(

Absolutely DO NOT try this in a bundt pan! The cake is awesome but the bundt pan was a total disaster.

Soft, Chewy Rosh Hashanah Honey-Walnut Cookies

I gave these a try just in case my taste buds had matured and decided they liked mincemeat. Nope, no change 8( A mincemeat liking friend LOVED these therefore they earned the four star rating.

Bandito Beans

I took this to a potluck and it was one of the first dishes to be finished off. I did make a couple of personal preference changes....I used turkey Italian sausage, cut the brown sugar in half and used both green and yellow peppers. I also did not use the fennel seed but next time I make it I probably will. The only reason I left them out was the thought that some would not care for the licorice taste of fennel.

Berry Crumb Bars

Everybody really enjoyed these bars. I did use butter rather than shortening just due to personal preference. Mine was blueberry and sweetness level was just fine. Next time I will probably add a bit more cinnamon just, again, due to preference.

Best Oatmeal Raisin Cookies EVER

Pretty good but a more cakey texture than we like. They also tend to squish and stick together when put in cookie jar.

YUM! Very easy to make. Set out a choice of fruit fillings and there will not be an unhappy person in the bunch. Kids find these special for some reason.

Breakfast Kolaches

I do not have a bread machine so made these using frozen bread dough thawed and allowed to rise then punched down. Rather than links I browned turkey breakfast sausage and used shredded cheddar. Was an okay breakfast but probably will not make again. Accidentally gave it 4 stars meant to rate at 3 stars.

Mushroom Blue Cheese Turkey Burgers

I will make this recipe on a regular basis but from now on will NOT use the soy sauce. Between the soy sauce, the salt and the blue cheese it was overpoweringly salty. I also prefer them made on the stove and mixing in the blue cheese then serving blue cheese crumbles for those wishing for more. Definitely a keeper.

Strawberry Rhubarb Coffee Cake

This is one of the easiest and best strawberry/rhubarb desserts I have ever made. You cannot go wrong with this one. The second time I made it I put all of the cake batter on the bottom, topped it with the strawberry rhubarb mixture and then pu on the topping. This worked better for me as it kept the topping on top and not falling off.
