Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
Made as instructed but had to add more milk. Turned out great! Love that you can control consistency to either dip or spread but doesn't have the yucky aftertaste like royal icing or using egg whites.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
I made this recipe exactly as instructed. These were MARVELOUS! Best sugar cookies I've ever made, and I've made lots! I made them nice and thick and they baked perfectly for about 7 1/2 minutes. I will definitely use this as my go-to for rolled sugar cookies!

Simple Savory Quinoa

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
This was very good! I liked the use of turmeric, as you dont see it used often. I forgot to add the lime so can't comment on the flavor completely. I used chicken bullion since I also had no veg broth. I added kale for a boost of nutrients which was a nice addition, used fresh basil, and did not add salt.

Pineapple Beets

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
I gave this four stars! Not 5 because it's not terribly new and different, but this is sure to please. The pineapple gives a slight tangy flavor, unexpected from your standard vinegar beet ingredients. It's tasty and has just the right mix of flavors. Thanks! I'l be making this again.

Elizabeth's Extreme Chocolate Lover's Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
Excellent! Definitely takes a little experience if you've not baked much. I followed the advice of some other posters to ensure success. I almost forgot to add the boiling water which would have been tragic! I had no problems with the batter. I did have to cut the "hump" off of the top of my bottom layer. Definitely need to let the ganache harden a little for easier use. Seemed to make a ton of ganache, and I had to discard the rest. The buttercream frosting is to die for! I had to add additional cream though because my mixer couldn't handle the thickness. Also, for the middle, put the buttercream frosting on first, then the ganache, because the buttercream won't spread over ganache. I also used piping to decorate. I had to keep adding cream to the frosting for piping consistency. I also have so much buttercream frosting left- not sure where the original baker used it all. Takes about 3 hours to make, but well worth the time. Sinfully delicious!!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This was just okay. It shouldn't really be called a "glaze" because this turned out to be a spreadably thick frosting. I'm not sure if I did something wrong- I did microwave instead of do the stove because we were short on time. However, the cake I put it on was extremely rich, so I think next time I will stick with a different recipe. 3 stars for easy to make, but not true to it's name

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This recipe is outstanding! I made it for my husband's 40th Bday and he loved it. And he is a huge chocoholic. I felt better knowing this was at least somewhat lower in calories. It was very moist. I used fat-free sour cream, applesauce instead of oil, but had to add some skim milk (about 1/2 c) because of the consistency. I didn't tell my husband it was lower-cal and he had no reason to suspect it. 5 stars!

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Very very yummy! My husband and I made these together because he loves gingerbread men. The spices are scrumptious when blended perfectly. I didn't do the pumpkin spice substitution because I felt it needed the extra clove seasoning by doing the measurements separately. I did, like the others, have trouble with the dough. We added about 1/2 cup more flout and refrigerated again and they rolled out beautifully. Don't roll the dough too thin though or you may have to do surgery on your little men for lost appendages! Enjoy!
