About this Cook
I love cooking for my husband, family and friends. I am currently pregnant with my first child, and am trying to eat a healthier diet rich in fruits, veggies and proteins! I really enjoy entertaining and trying out new recipes. I was always an excellent baker, but I surely wasn't the best cook! Allrecipes has really helped me to learn to master cooking basics.
My favorite things to cook
Trying out new things to make for dinner, so we don't eat the same things over and over. I also love making decadent desserts for special occasions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making desserts for my family on holidays. They're almost always well-received, and since I am the only person in my family who LOVES baking, I am usually the designated baker on holidays!
My cooking triumphs
I like to make creatively decorated cakes for friends' birthdays. They're a lot of fun for me to make, taste delicious, and people love and appreciate them!
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make a roast chicken. I followed the recipe exactly, but somehow it just tasted terrible! How do you ruin a roast chicken ?! :-)

Classic Macaroni Salad
When I first started making this I wasn't too looked to "wet' and seemed to have a lot of onion. This turned out to be FANTASTIC! I didn't have celery or carrot, so I added a large chopped onion, a small jar of drained and chopped pimentos, and about 6 small dill pickles, chopped. I also didn't have white vinegar so I used apple cider vinegar instead. I read a lot of reviews about this being too sweet, but I still added a scant 1/2 cup and it was perfect. With all those onions and vinegar, you need some sweetness to tone them down. I also thought the salt and pepper quantities were perfect as well. One of my favorite recipes I've gotten from this site in a long time!

Marinated Flank Steak
This was one of the best marinades I've tried! I used it on London broil and it was perfect. I had two steaks--one marinated for approx 8 hrs and the other for 24 hrs. They were both great, but the 24 hour one was definitely more flavorful. I'll definitely use this recipe again!

All-Natural No-Bake Cookies
Yum! Used agave nectar in place of the honey and it worked very well as a vegan cookie recipe. I got about 20 good sized cookies from this recipe.
